Finished

I finished off two jobs this weekend. One was the PINK room.
It took four coats of paint in all to cover it.

I am very happy with the new room. I am sure the grandies will be too. Now I just need to buy some nice curtains.
The second was to re-model my doll John's sailor suit.
I bought it about four years ago. I knew it would be a fiddly job so I just keep putting it back in the cupboard.Should have done it sooner as he looks so handsome in his new suit.

Fun with Friends

Tonight I went out with some of my friends to put together and decorate a gingerbread house. JJ is busy putting the sides together with the sticky icing.
Ah!! The four sides are up. Hope they don't collapse.LOL.  Linda helping Kerra-Lyn with her house. Looks like serious work Linda!!!

We have a roof so it is time for a cuppa while the icing sets before we continue the decorating
Looking good. Don't know how many lollies went into the mouths instead of on the house but I know I ate far too many.Front of my house.Well I don't think I will make a cake decorator but we sure had fun and got very sticky.
Do you think the back is any better??? Oh well off to see the ladies who sprinkle icing over it and wrap them up in cello.
Keera-Lyn waiting in line. I think her house looks good. So many lollies!!!

Ready to go home and wait for the grandies to come and gobble it up.

Row By Row

Tonight I went to Patch or should I say last night as it is after midnight. It was very exciting as we handed over our row by rows. It is seven months since we started and passed on the first row we did.Over the next six months each of the ladies in the swap worked diligently and secretly on each row.Once a month we would hand over the bag to the next person.Of course we had show and tell. The lady who owned the row we were showing had to leave the room.We would all ooohh!!! and aahhhh!! as we admired each row. It was all a lot of  fun and also stress when the right fabric could not be found.I am overwhelmed with my rows and the ladies did such a great job. Thanks again to all. I LOVE IT.
I started with the wonky fence row, which looks rather plain now against all the beautiful appliqued rows. Maybe I need to put something on it.I just love the tulips and the windmill as I am a little Dutch girl. The yellow fat birds sitting on the branches. All the different birdhouses, big, small and wonky. The trees, stars and pinwheels all wonderful. NOW how do I put it together???? I think I will sleep on it.
Don't forget to look at my previous post for retro mummy's giveaway.

Home Again

Have spent the last few days visiting my DD2 and
2 youngest GC in Perth. On arrival my DD2 was busy
sewing dance costumes. As they had to be finished I
helped by sewing on the "buckles"
While GD2 was making breakfast mere male GS2 was lying on the couch waiting for it to be served. LOL

After taking the children to school my DD2 and I went to her craft group. The project was to make a Snowman.I had a very enjoyable morning chatting and laughing with my new friends.   In the evening I did some more work on my snowman.

Lunch with Friends

Our little band of Red Hatters seems to be getting ever smaller but we always have a great outing together. Lots of laughs and chatter.

Today we went for lunch at our new cafe in town called "Coffee and Canvas". The owner is an artist and displays her paintings on the wall. It is such a friendly and relaxing place to visit.

I fell in love with this one and had to buy it. I now have a beautiful bunch of flowers on my wall all the time.

Well Done Team

This is our team that joined the "Get on Track Challenge"

Today we gathered with members from other teams for a bring and share lunch to find out how we all went in the challenge.
This is the map we marked off each week. The challenge was over 8 weeks.
You could see on the graph how kms each team walked. We are the third team from the left and were very pleased to see we were second in the challenge. We walked nearly 5000 kms.

" Fright"

As I was walking up the driveway to collect the bin I saw something move in the corner of my eye.EEEEEEKKKK a snake. Then I realised it was a python so went back to the house for the camera.

When I returned I could not see him. Then I looked up and there he was.I often pull weeds from under the trees but I will be more aware from now on.
See how well he is camouflaged in the gum tree?

This and That

Today I stayed home to do some things that needed to be DONE.

First I pulled out some dead Acacia Bushes.

They are not very big but have a huge root system which takes a lot of pulling and chopping. I was very pleased when I completed the job.

After lunch I went into the sewing room and finished some swaps. Wrapped them and got them ready to take into town to catch the post.

Sorry cannot show you as the recipient may read this blog!!!

Busy Weekend

I have had a busy weekend as it was the Lobster Festival Saturday and the Blessing of the fleet on Sunday.

On Saturday I went on the Fun Run (I walked) from Granny's Beach into town about 5kms.It was lovely to see families and younger folk take part.
This was some of the view as we made our way into town.
I did take many photos but lost them when trying to download, sob!
After having a cool drink and some yummy watermelon we went and looked at all the stalls at the market.
Later we had morning tea and then watched the belly dacning. Don't think I would look very good in the sheer costumes like they wore.
Later in the evening our group from The Patch Club went to give the children from camp quality a quilt each. We were invited to join them for a special tea.

Sunday was another beautiful day. Lousie and I went for a walk along the beach and then went to see the boats for the Blessing of the Fleet. There were some very unusal cray boats. Decorated with balloons, trees and flags. There was music playing form each one and people dressed to match the theme of the boat they were on.I am sure a good time was had by all.

Special Day

I had just the best day today. It was my birthday and I got lots of phone calls, flowers, birthday e-mails and gifts from family and friends.

DH flowers

A surprise visit from my DD1and partener. After they left DH went into town and returned with a huge cardboard box. What is inside??????
WOW!!!!More beautiful flowers. Seems my DD1 had them sent as they were going to come on the motor bike and as Jo said " It is a little hard to carry flowers" Later DH and I went out for a lovely lunch.
Now there was only one LITTLE thing to spoil my day. A BEE. When I walked on the lawn he stung my little toe. I am sure if someone that big stood on me I would bite them too!!
