OPAM for May 2021

As another month has flown by it's time to join KRIS for OPAM and post our finishes... Thank you Kris for keeping us on track.

The "Hounds " from Toni's book Happy Quilts is much loved by Lacy...

and finally I've completely finished Lynette Anderson's wall hanging "Anderson's Farm"

I had it custom quilted by Sandy in Geraldton and she did a fantastic job....

I hope to have my two quilts back from the quilter soon and get the binding on for a few finishes next month.

Must away to go into town for a coffee with my friend.

Stay well and thoughts with those in lockdown 🤗

Working on my Old WOOFA Challenge.

Finally this month I decided to work on my old WOOFA challenge which I started back HERE and you can see the problem I had with it HERE but it's thanks to Cheryll encouraging us by joining in the WOOFA Challenge that Urban Owls is again under the machine and I'm quilting it....
It's not easy rolling up and getting the big quilt under the domestic Bernina so it will be slow going.....

In between I've been getting my Piggy blocks organised which was a free pattern from the lovely Toni from Red Boot Quilt Company

and also made four blocks for Aussie Heros

Must away now and pop the kettle on

Stay safe and well.

Birthday FNSI for May 2021

Tonight it was time for FNSI with Wendy and it’s a special birthday night. Thank you Wendy for kindly designing a lovely stitchery for us to download as a free gift....

As the weeks are flying by so quickly I decided tonight I’d start work on some secret sewing for Christmas.....

Later, while listening to my Audio Book I did some hand sewing....

This is a long term project I started many years ago . It has travelled around Aussie a few times as it was my hand sewing project while travelling...

One day I hope to finish it.....

Must away as it’s after midnight and time for bed....

Happy stitching and stay safe.

Hugs  Maria  ❤️

This has been a challenging post as my Laptop is at the doctors so I've done this post on my original dear old computer ... Had to update lots, including passwords I'd long forgotten and downloading photos , OMG... Anyway fingers crossed when I press publish it works.......

Must away and pop on the kettle.

Happy stitching and stay well.

Some Catching up

Can't believe it's three weeks since The Patchwork Clubs 25th birthday and I hadn't posted our special cake,

and in this photo in the back row are three original members and the two in the forefront are out Youngest ladies, Edith left 80?? and Val 93.. Both ladies still do beautiful work...

While I was busy sewing "Carnival" the machine was making a funny noise. I keep sewing instead of stopping to check why ??  There was a big mess underneath so some unpicking was done....

Then when I got home and lifted my box of projects etc out of the car the lid slipped off...

Not the best end to my day !!!!

I've slowly worked on painting the eaves and they are nearly done.

In the sewing department I made and posted some Aussie Hero Blocks ..

Also finished putting "Carnival" together , sewed around top and bottom to hold all the seams

got backing and wadding cut for it as well as for "Quilt by Numbers" that you can see HERE.

Ready to take to the quilters in Mingnew this morning...

As it's a 106 kms round trip my friend Jean joined me as there's a Bakery there that makes delicious cakes....

Liked the sign above a bowl for the dogs water...

Must away now and organise some dinner....

Happy Stitching and stay safe...

Hugs  Maria ❤

WOOFA sewing for FnwFs May 2021

Last night I joined the lovely Cheryll and friends for FnwFs . It's always fun to sew along with everyone virtually from all over the world and this week I decided to work on my WOOFA Challenge which is also organised by Cheryll ....

It's a quilt from this years calendar called "Carnival"  ( can see pic in previous post HERE )  I managed to get a few more rows sewn after I had made a start at our Patch Group's 25th Birthday last Saturday...

Have two more rows to go and then sashings.......Another stash buster .....

Wishing All the Mum's a very Happy Mother's Day tomorrow.....

Must away and bring in the washing....

Happy stitching and stay safe...

Catching up and sign up for FnwFs...

For the past two weeks Iv'e been painting the eves but I had a bit of drama before I got going ....after filling a small bucket ready to start painting the handle broke when I picked it up....... SLAT !!!!!!

and before I had a chance to start cleaning up someone trotted through it...

so I had to chase and catch Lacy , clean her feet and then lock her inside while I cleaned it all up and start again getting organised.....

It was good to have my sewing to do and our Patch group's birthday party to attend ( blog photos next post ) in between painting.

Only a bit more and it's done...

Don't forget to pop over to Cheryll's to sign up for FnwFs .
Must away to watch " Handmaidens Tale"

Happy stitching and stay safe....

Hugs Maria ❤
