Jelly Roll Waves Link Up and FNSI sign up.....

It's time to Link Up with Myra's for the Jelly Roll Waves Quilt Along .....

I do like the way these fabrics are going together ..
Look forward to getting this quilt made..
Thank you Myra for running the Sew Along...

I would like to remind you that this Friday is FNSI so pop over to Wendy  to sign on for a relaxing evening of crafting .....

Must away as it's time to make a cuppa....

Christmas in July

Back in May the lovely Cheryll from Gone Stitching  asked if anyone would like to do a swap for Christmas in July ....
We were asked to send three gifts, a sewing item. a handmade gift in her colour choice and something just for her.....
As it had been sew long since I participated in a swap I was happy to join in.
My partner was Sherry who lives in US. Her colour choice was Purple or Yellow...
I found the two Fat Quarters and made her a table runner....

Sewing item ...

A thread catcher

and something just for her I stitched a tiny hoop embroidery that is on a chain.

Sherry's parcel arrived this week
and I received these great useful gifts

A tea pouch, card holder, a coaster and small sketchbook'

My colour choice was Blues or blue/white and I am thrilled with the hand made gift Sherry made...

It's perfect on my bench where we make our cuppas........

Huge thank to Cheryll for organising the swap and Sherry for all my lovely gifts...

Retreat, the Big Smoke and FnwFs .....

Last weekend our Patch club had a " Stay at Home Retreat."  My DD come up from Perth on the bus to join us..
I took along my "" BlooMs " and it was great to put the binding and have it finished.... The strippy fabric was great..  Also did all the sleeves on the quilts I'm putting in our Quilt Show in October, a big job done....

My DD worked on a "Rainbow Fish "baby quilt but I forgot photos....

Sunday we drove back to Perth and I had a few crazy busy days there but on Thursday we got to spend ALL day sewing.

While DD sewed the "Lego" blocks I ironed, afterwards I sewed pieces of wadding together for a backing ,

Then we pinned........

as I drove home yesterday DD was on a roll , keep sewing and sent me a photo of  " The Crayon " quilt she was working on next...
DD buys a kids book and then makes a quilt to go with it. She'll have some fabulous ones for the show to hung in our " Children's Display " and hopes to sell some....

After getting home unpacking the car, doing some shopping and having dinner it was nice to relax and join Cheryll for FnwFs ,our monthly sewing evening with virtual friends...

I cut out and made a few "Poppy" blocks for  " Aussie Hero's "

Then sat down relax and watch
"The Exotic Marigold Hotel "
while doing some knitting...

Must away now and hang some washing.

Happy Stitching,

Hugs  Maria  😊
