WOOFA (not) for January.....

 I decided to join Cheryll for WOOFA again this year ..

Last year I worked on "Urban Owls" and I finally got all the blocks together ( sorry didn't take a photo) and the plan was to quilt it this year as a WOOFA challenge.

I always pin my quilts but I was told that spray basting was great so I decided to try it ... After doing the center block I turned the quilt over to discover it had puckered .... I'll need to unpick it all and then PIN it... it's put a damper on the project.......

so now I've picked " Sisters" for Febs project and hope it easier to sandwich ,pin and quilt....

Thank you Cheryll for the gentle push and reminders again this year....

Must away and find something for dinner.

OPAM Finishes and RSC at RETREAT...

 Last Wednesday I drove to Perth to pick up my DD2 and we went to Toodjay for retreat...

It's a beautiful place to enjoy good friends with no cooking or cleaning for four days . Just sewing chatting and lots of laughing and I did complete some projects ....

Stippled the " I Spy " quilt and stitched on the binding...

As I've joined Kris for OPAM this year again  I can add this finish.....

as well as the "Santa"  wall hanging,

I got the  "Racing Cars"  together into a flimsy ready to sandwich and pin,

and also the  "Sisters " blocks...

The Sisters were last years  RSC  but this year I'm just doing some 2 1/2" blocks like this , PINK  was Januarys colour....

and then I worked on " Fabric Fusion"

The days passed quickly and before I know it it was time to go home!!!

First FNSI for 2021

 It was nice to join in with Wendy for the FNSI with 23 other ladies again ...                                               I'm trying to get organised with some projects to take to retreat next week.  

1st getting the last few racing cars appliqued sew I can put the flimsy together there.

     

Got the " I Spy " flimsy sandwiched and pinned ready to quilt....

and I've cut out my first mask and made it just in case it's needed while I'm away...

Now I better make a list and mark it off as I pack.......

Must away now and tidy the Cave.....

First FnwFs for 2021

 Last night was the first FnwFs organised by Cheryll. so I put together the "I Spy" blocks into a flimsy ready to sandwich. 

 While my assistant sat on the sewing chair I sat on the recliner and stitched the last few stitches on "Jolly Santa" 

and this morning I sewed on the borders while the chair was free...

It was great to get a start on some projects but I must decide on a UFO list and also see what I'll join up to this year....

Must away as there are few sewing baskets that need tidying ready to take to Patch...

Good start to 2021.....

 I had a great start to 2021 by first going for a beautiful dip... the water was so clear so we stayed in for ages...

Later I met my friend for a coffee, cake and chat and on returning home it was time to join Chooky and ladies from all over the world for a ZOOM meeting....

I sat and did some more stitching on  "Jolly Santa" by the Birdhouse Designs while chatting and listening to all. 

I really enjoy our ZOOM GTG  , thanks for  the invite Chooky.

In the evening I found a pile of 6 1/2"   "I Spy"  blocks I'd cut ages ago 

so I sat and sewed some together while hubby watched cricket....

It's been so much cooler the past few days so its nice to do some sewing again....

I must away now and answer some emails...
