Finally !

I have a finish for OPAM which Kris is kindly organising for us again this year... It was such a hard job pushing the quilt along when trying to ditch the geese on the border of my "Down Under quilt"...

When I'd nearly finished I realised  WHY ????????

Silly me hadn't placed the walking foot's hook onto the nut which helps the foot move.......

But thankfully the binding was attached with no problems so I have finished another of Toni's designs from Red Boot Quilt Company

  "  Down Under Quilt "

You also see four small finishes by popping over HERE

Must away and finish packing , off to the Big Smoke in the morning.....

Hope all are keeping well and find some time to stitch.

Hugs  Maria ❤

Easter Weekend Sew In Part 2

After getting an invite from Chooky to join in for a ZOOM meeting I got up early (for me) Saturday, had a quick brekky and joined in for a fun morning of chatting with Chooky and ladies from Canada,USA,NZ and Aussie while we stitch and also continue for the EWSI

I worked on my EPP project La Passacaglia....

While I was chatting and stitching Hubby took Lacy for a ride on the quad to the beach.

Lacy loves going fast and grabbing the branches as they fly past .That is why she is secured in the tub.

I was surprised how many Stars I got done.
They are now all ready to add the purple diamonds.
I looked everywhere for the center block to show the ladies but couldn't find it anywhere. When I'd signed out of  ZOOM I opened the pattern book and there it was...

Saturday afternoon I got back to ditching the Land Down Under quilt and when I got here I had to do some reverse sewing...
I know if I left it it would bother me....

Much better and time to call it quits and get dinner after which I did some more hand sewing by stitching more purple Diamonds on the stars for La Passacaglia...

Sunday I did a little more quilting and then went out on the block to play on the ride on mower...

I had a great Easter Weekend thanks to Wendy and Chooky....

Must away as it's bed time again....

Stay safe and well.

Easter Weekend Sew In......Part 1

Instead of our usual FNSI this month Wendy decided to have a EWSI... A fun weekend of sewing where we can join in whenever it suited us...I had an early start on Friday and got my Land Down Under Quilt  designed by Toni Alexander under the machine to get it quilted...

I got most of the blocks stippled when hubby came in and asked if I could hem his Aussie Flag before putting it on our flag pole.

I set up my little Jamone and fixed it for him...

Hubby needed a haircut so I got it done before he disappeared into his shed...

Finally I got back to quilting and when I had completed all the blocks started doing the borders by quilting in the ditch of the Flying Geese...
Such a slow boring  job so only did one side before I gave up for the day....

Must away now and get ready for bed... Part 2 tomorrow.

Happy Easter to all and stay safe.

Hugs  Maria ❤

Patchwork Birthday

Today we celebrated our "Patchwork Clubs" 26th birthday and sat outside at the front of Denison House. The Chapel is situated behind were we gather for our sewing days.

We all sang "Happy Birthday" and enjoyed yummy food and cake.... There was lots of show and tell but I only got a few good photos....

Esther's ( one of our eldest members) beautiful "Letters for my Daughter"

A few weeks ago some of members attended a workshop to make these fabulous bags...

and Allison made this sweet Easter table runner using her much loved "Liberty" fabrics....

It was a lovely morning sunny and a big thank you to all who helped make the day special.

Must away and pop on the kettle

Keep safe and hope you have time to stitch.

Hugs  Maria  ❤

FnwFs, RSC and Stay at Home Retreat.

It;s been a busy weekend for me as I joined the ladies from Patch for a Stay at Home Retreat and as it started on the first Friday of the month I also joined Cheryll and my virtual friends to sew-a-long with them....

I worked on my wedding ring blocks and as a leader and ender project made some wee bunnies ...
I saw them on Karen's blog a few weeks ago as she was making them for her market stall.
I made five wedding ring blocks and was over doing them so today I worked on my RSC organised by Angela each month....

This month's are PINK ... My half log cabin blocks.

and my Detectable Mountain ones.

I learnt a good lesson with these. NEVER use directional fabrics.... I'll need to made another now to match.
A big THANK YOU to all the ladies who keep busy all weekend......

Must away and re organise The Cave....

Keep safe and well

Hugs  Maria ❤
