Goodbye to 2020 - OPAM Dec finishes.....

I seem to have fallen into a black hole and haven't had much motivation to do anything except go for my morning dip......Could be the heat......

Sew I've stayed in the "Cave" with the air con blasting and I read on Facebook that Jan Mac  is taking donations of Library Bags and Pencil cases ..As I like to make projects to donate thought it was just the thing to get me sewing so I pulled out some fabrics to make some to send along to Jan   ....

I'd like to give a huge THANK YOU  to KRIS for once again running OPAM and keeping us motivated through a difficult year.... XXX

The only other sewing I've completed this month for  OPAM  are the Christmas Coasters I popped into cards to send to friends this year....Can't remember how many I made but only got a photo of these....

On Sunday Chooky had an unplanned ZOOM meeting and I enjoyed catching up and chatting with some ladies....I guess that's one good thing that has come out of Covid for me.. I learnt to ZOOM !!
Chooky hopes to get us together on New Years Eve/ Day so keep an eye open for an email...

Wishing you all A Happier and Healthier 2021

Well I must away to service the machine and put in a new needle....

Hugs Maria...

Last night I worked on sewing some pinwheels for the LAST part of "Urban Owls"

after sorting out fabrics, cutting and drawing the center lines it was time to sit at the machine.

I managed to get some sewn together before it was time for bed....

Last WOOFA for the year...

As it is the last WOOFA for the Year I would like to thank Cheryll for running the linky each month ..It helped keep me interested in getting some finishes and then work on "Urban Owls" I had hoped to completed the top of "Urban Owls" but this didn't because I cut the pieces for the last rows too small it put me behind and because I had no more of that fabric had do lots of fudging...... I have the EPPed sections done

and now need to do 32 X 6 1/2" pinwheels to completed the last border.

Sew I guess "Urban Owls" will be on the WOOFA list  for next year.....

Oh and don't forget to go over to Wendy's  for the last FNSI for 2020.. You could join in and maybe work on a last minute gift.....

Must away to watch " The Beatles"

Wishing one and all a Happy Christmas and stay safe...

Hugs  Maria ❤

Busy Week....

I've had a busy week with a quick trip to the big smoke to visit family and do same Christmas shopping... One thing I always enjoy about driving down to Perth this time of year is seeing all the Western Australian Native Christmas Trees in bloom...

They grow along both sides of the road and even though it a scruffy looking tree the flowers are gorgeous....

I got home on Wednesday for our Patch Christmas dinner. I was to busy chatting to get any photos of the table etc.                                                          We don't exchange gifts but each member donates non perishable foods to make hampers for folk in our town for Christmas... but we did receive a small goodie bag to take home''

Today I decided it was time to go into the Cave and do some sewing on my WOOFA challenge "Urban Owls" The last border has more Foundation Piecing to do sew I busily cut out the 7" strips to be cross cut into 3" X 7" but when I went to sew them they were a bit short....

after re- reading the instructions properly realised I had to cut them 3" X 7 1/2" ..

Now I either have cut more or do some fudging....

Must away and put the kettle on for a cuppa before I decide ?

Stay Safe n Well...

     Happy Christmas   Maria XX
