Beeswax Wraps.......

In my previous post I said I'd tell you about the fun workshop I went to make Beeswax Wraps .....

These are the ones I made at the workshop and we were able to take home the rest of special pre-mixed Beeswax.  sew we could make some more .

I cut and washed some fabrics and have made wraps to share with my DD....

With the baking paper under my fabric I grated the wax ,

then spread the it and put another piece of baking paper over the top making sure the waxy of the paper part is on top.

with the iron on wool setting gently spread the wax,

till all of fabric is covered ,

Remove from between parers and let dry......

I had fun making more until there was only a tiny piece of wax left

Now I must away and do some domestic chores.......😒

Happy Stitching.

Hugs Maria 😊

P.S not sure why the comment box is sew low.. did try to fix it !!!!!!

FNSI for June

I always enjoy my FNSI with the lovely Wendy and friends for a virtual night of sewing....

Before I could get into the "Cave"  Charlie badly needed a wash . As we've had little rain and the water tanks have been low we didn't waste water just to wash our cars weeks but we've had some nice rainfall I could finally wash my car......

Once I'd cleaned up after dinner I had a great time in my favorite space..

First I got out the box with my No 7 Challenge for Sunday Stitchers   "Jelly Roll Beach Ball" Baby Quilt.....

While sewing the strips together I used the "Happy Birthday" bunting as a leader and ender project too....

After doing a few blocks I decided

to start some quilting on  My BlooMs , just doing some ditching first...
was really happy with the backing I was able to buy at the local Craft Shop..

As it was getting late I made a cuppa to relax and do some beanie knitting before bed...

Thanks heaps Wendy for another great night of sewing and some knitting ..

Today I went to a workshop on how to make Beeswax Wraps so

I must away and cut out some squares to make more, will post later...

Happy Stitching

FnwFs for June and BlooMerS Party

Last night I sewed along with Cheryll and friends for FnwFs  ( even though Cheryll and her hubby are enjoying a weekend away in the caravan ) and worked on putting the borders on my BlooMs for the BlooMerS ParTy  another of  Cheryll's SALs.....   It's great that you keep us on track, thanks Cheryll,,,,

Was pleased to have the White and Blue fabric  in my stash as I'm really trying not to buy any fabrics...Unless ofcourse I NEED them....... the flimsy measures  50" X 58" ..  Good Lap Size...Now to find a backing, sandwich and then quilt it......

Also finished the  "cable beanie"  I've been working on after LOTS of reverse knitting.....

Must away to see what others were busy doing for FnwFs,

Happy Stitching

Hugs  Maria  😊

Partying and BloOmS ( long post )

this weekend is the Chookshed's Birthday and while Chooky is sewing along with some friends she's invited us to join in the Party virally.... Perfect as Hubby is off to a motocross event for two days.

Sew on Friday I got out my BlooM BlockS and sewed the last two,

added them to the last row

and at midnight it was time for bed.....

Up early yesterday and into the Cave after brekky for a few hours before meeting my friend for coffee and a wonder around the markets....
When I got home I was happy to party again in The Cave and sewed all my BlooM Rows together. Not sure if I want to put a small white border and than another larger one to make bigger ??????

Then onto some secret sewing, but when I went to check something online I had NO internet....Then spent most of the afternoon on the phone, NOT happy Jane but thankfully problem solved..

Decided a walk along the foreshore with Lacy was a good idea to clear my head.....

Not sure if it's a walk or run with her.... but pleased we went because just look at the beautiful Sunset.....

Home to get myself some dinner and watch the final episode of  "The Midwife"  ( I always cry in that show ) and more sewing..
This time I decided to work on my No 11 UFO challenge  " My Small World " that I'm doing with the Sunday Stitchers....

The first sections are sewn together , Two
Three and Four need a few more 1 1/2" blocks sewn onto the top , then it's just sections five ,six and seven to work on...

Slowly getting there Fiona !!

Must away and do some domestics before hubby returns and maybe later I can sew some more 1 1/2" blocks.......

Happy Stitching

Hugs  Maria  😊
