January Finishes,

Finally put the last stitches into the "Kawandi" Table runner I started in October last year.

It was slow going but I enjoyed sitting in the evenings hand stitching, but I didn't like the little visitor that decided to make my scissors keep home!!
Happy to have last years RSC blocks  made into a finished quilt ready to donate.

and while chatting with the ladies on Zoom Australia Day I stuffed and finished this little fella.

Must away now and put a roast in the oven...

Keep safe and well

First FNSI for 2021

It was already 45 deg Cel ( 113 deg Fah ) at 11am on the way home from the shops yesterday so I decided the "Cave" was the best place to be with the air con blasting and start sewing.

I joined Wendy for FNSI so got a nice early start on quilting the RCS quilt .

By the time I stopped to get some dinner organised I'd finished the quilting and got the binding ready to sew on...

Got back to sewing afterwards and completed the quilt.....

Thank you Wendy for organising our FNSI for another year and Dawn from Kitty Rose Cottage for donating the giveaway each month....

Must away and brave the heat to hang out some washing, Under the verandah thank goodness.

Stay safe and well..

Hugs  Maria ❤

This and That and sign ups for first FNSI 2022

Since my last post I've been trying to catch up with things,

First I made and posted my Aussie Hero Blocks .

and I am pleased to have done the last of the Row by Rows for Patch......
The lady requested "Christmas"
Last Saturday four Patch ladies went to the club rooms and together made this donation flimsy

It had been pre-cut and with one lady pinning , two of us on a machine and an ironing lady it went together quickly and it was done in less than four hours.....

Next I needed to sew some pieces of wadding together before pinning my RSC quilt from 2021.

Done and now ready to quilt by joining Wendy for our first  FNSI for 2022.

Visit  HERE and join in the fun.
By sewing along with Wendy and friends I always seem to get something done....

Must away and pop on the kettle.

Stay safe and well,

Hugs  Maria ❤

Good start to 2022

with a ZOOM  meeting organised by Chooky . ladies for all over Australia , Canada, US, NZ, Germany and Norway sewed along and chatted .....

I joined in for an hour before going for my morning dip and cut out the cherries for the Row by Row I'm working on.

Last night on Instagram I saw that Fiona was sewing her left over HST together  , I sent her a photo of a box I had and that I would be binning them... But then Fiona challenged me to make something from them. So when I returned to the ZOOM met.

I spent hours ironing .cutting and sewing only to end up with a small pile of 1 1/2" and 2" squares...

Not even enough to do anything with really so

sorry Fiona BUT if no one wants these HST they are defiantly going in the bin....I'm willing to send anywhere in Aussie.

I then picked up one of the blocks I'm crocheting around for awhile, got bored with it and

so I started this cute pincushion Turtle ....

the pattern is in Anni Downs book  The Simple Life

Thank you Chooky and all the ladies for a lovely day ....

Must away and make a cuppa..

Take care and keep safe,

Hugs  Maria ❤
