WOOFA Progress...

This year I joined WOOFA  "Working On Or Finishing A .... project", organised by Cheryll.. and the project I'm working on now is a quilt for ME called " Urban Owls" by Wendy Williams...
It has many techniques from applique to PP which I'll find challenging as well I've decided to hopefully only use what is in my stash......Sew good to have lots of encouragement , thanks Cheryll.

Sew far I have completed the centre block , small borders and a flying geese border . Next I've sewn two of the three Ohio Star corner blocks....

I can't decide whether to use the the mauve with the greens or the bluish/green for the star points in the next block ???
Which one do you think????

Must away now to put the kettle on for a cuppa,

Happy Stitching and keep well.

Hugs  Maria  ❤

FNSI and My WOOFA project....

It was lovely to sit and sew along with Wendy and 17 other ladies for FNSI...
I decided to work on my string blocks and completed 15 to make the 35 for one quilt to send  to Jan Mac plus bindings...
then it was onto my Paper Dolls free patterns designed by Toni.....

and here are the two I made before and forgot to post...

As it was still early enough before going to bed I sewed the borders onto "MY Quilt" which is the new WOOFA project with Cheryll.....

A big thank to both Wendy and Cheryll for keeping me on track with some of my projects .

You can pop over for a visit at both ladies by clicking on their names...

What I'm doing and FNSI sign up for June....

I can't seem to settle on one project at the moment, there is a quilt I sandwiched and pinned two weeks ago waiting to be quilted, not sure how ??

then there is my No 11 UFO challenge for Sunday Stitchers I need to do by Sunday.......

I even put a few stitches in a
"Cross Stitch " that's been a UFO for years..........

but then when I saw some QAYG blocks on Susan's Blog this morning so I went into the Cave and started cutting up wadding ( before I even commented on the post. have done now. ) ready to sew some blocks, there are 19 made so need at 16 more to send to Jan Mac to make up a quilt...

I always put down a sheet of newspaper on my board before cutting the wadding and then you don't get fluff stuck in the board.....

sew today I've sewn some QAYG blocks....

As it will be the third Friday of the month this week don't forget to sign up at Wendy's  for FNSI. It's always great to sew along with our virtual friends and catch up with them to see what they worked on....

wonder which project I'll work on??

Okay must away and pop on the kettle for a cuppa....

Happy stitching and stay safe...

FnwFs 2

Over this time of isolation Cheryll has kindly organised us for two nights a month of FnwFs to keep us busy and to sew along with our virtual friends , was great thanks Cheryll . From next July ( really) it will be back to once a month again.

Before I could start on any fun sewing last night I needed to make a new cover for my dryer which lives outside. When we had the dust storm the other week the old cover was destroyed.....

I set up the overlocker and was happily sewing away when the thread broke, GRRRRR !!!!
Had to be the No 4 which is a doozie to thread.......

Took about an hour of "CALM" words before it was all ready to go again....

Finally finished the cover and had a cuppa and then onto to getting out my fun sewing ... It's going to be a quilt for me and I started HERE then worked on some more HERE sew I've decided it will be a great WOOFA  project that is another great SAL Cheryll organises.....

First I needed to re- stitch a few flying geese to fit the centre block....

Then I stitched the circles on the corner blocks before deciding on the next small border....

I chose to cut the four different strips ..
Managed to join one before going to bed.... Happy with my progress....

Must away and have some late lunch.

Happy stitching and stay safe.

Hugs  Maria  ❤

Perfectly Pleasing Pincushion Parade 2020

When I read that Ida from My Sister Made Me Do It... was organising the Perfectly Pleasing Pincushion Parade again for 2020 I decided it would be fun to join in ..

As it's been three years since the last PPPP I'll show my pincushions of old , which I still have ....
Some are for show and sit on my corner shelf,

Others I use everyday I when I'm machine sewing..

There are pincushions that hang next to my chair for when I'm hand sewing made by Christine in a swap many years ago,
another lives near my sewing machine made by Jan a lady from Patch,

These two are handy as I use them to only hold my needles....

and here are some new ones .
1st is one I made form a lovely siggy swap block from Helen.

Next a cute little set made by Sandi , they come in handy to pop into my bag when going to an appointment...

and I made this one for the parade ,
liked the idea of popping in the pair of scissors .....

Thanks Ida for organising the parade this year and also all the fabulous sponcers.....

Must away to pop some of my favorite oldies in my header....

Happy sewing and stay safe...

Hugs  Maria ❤

FnwFs and Chookshed Party.

Friday night it was time to join Cheryll and friends for FnwFs and I made my RSC Sisters.  For June the colour is PINK and it was fun to dig through the stash to find the fabrics...

Here they are with the others I've made so far.

Afterwards I did some quilting on my small Scrappy Flip Flop quilt.

By then it was after midnight and decided to get some sleep before joining Chooky in the morning for the Online Chookshed Party

As Chooky couldn't have her usual Chookshed Party because of the virus she set up a Zoom Party and we were invited to join her..  I enjoyed seeing many friends I've blogged with and never met as well as lots of new ladies from Germany, France, Belgium, USA, Canada, New Zealand and Australia that I can now follow on blogs and see their wonderful projects......
Thanks Chooky it was great.. It really is
" A Small World After All"

I hand stitched the  "Poodle" while chatting which I put into a bag ( between going online and then sitting up till 1am to finish it ) .... it will be a gift for my bobbing friend who has a Poodle...

Well I must away and made a new Pincushion for tomorrow's Perfectly Pleasing Pincushion Parade which you can still join in HERE

Happy Stitching and stay safe,

Hugs  Maria ❤
