Lockdown FNSI April 2020

Yesterday morning Hubby and I trimmed another four trailer loads of trees after which he took me to my favorite swimming hole to cool down.. Was a 30 deg day ....I was the only one in the water as hubby doesn't go in but sits on his coke crate to make sure I'm safe.....

In the afternoon it was time to go into "The Cave " for FNSI . When  I rummaged through my fabric cupboard and I came across this pile of fabrics

that had been put aside ages ago to make a "Super Hero " quilt ...

I used this simple pattern .

Sew after cutting it out and laying the blocks on the bed ( my design wall ) to sort where to put them it didn't take long to sew it together. Then I had a piece of  fabric for the backing ,not a perfect match BUT thought it would do. All sandwiched pinned ready to quilt after dinner....

Even got the binding on and then I was about 1 1/2 " short . Sew I got out my bag of left over bindings because I knew I'd use this before . Yes I could see a peice ....

and it was enough....

Last night I completed the quilt and even put a label in the corner...

Completed an unplanned project  thanks to Wendy for our FNSI ..

Look forward to seeing what others have done HERE

Must away and getting ready to help hubby again ..

Happy Stitching , Stay safe and well.

Hugs  Maria  ❤

Helping and FNSI sign up ...

Today I went into town to do my weekly shop and pop my blocks for Aussie Hero's in the post...

on my return I got into my old clobber to help Hubby on "The Block"
We live on 5 acres and over the years have planted about 80 different trees sew now it's time to trim some...

We filled three trailer loads and then decided to call it quits for the day as it was getting rather hot...Now I could have gone inside to do some housework or ask Hubby to take me to the beach for a swim ?
Guess which one I did ????

Before I close I'd like to remind you it's the third Friday of the month tomorrow and time to join Wendy for FNSI., do pop over HERE to sign up and join us for a fun time sewing together .

Must away to make a cuppa and watch "The Chase"

Happy stitching and stay safe...

Easter Weekend 2020

Even though we are doing social distancing and the family wasn't able to visit for Easter I had a nice weekend starting Friday with Cheryll organising a 2nd FnwFs and you can see in the previous post what I did.
Saturday Chooky organised all the ladies that would normally have gone to "Scrub Stitching " to GTG on ZOOM and I was delighted she invited me to join them....
Earlier I received a pouch designed by Anni from Hatched and Patched in the post which we  worked on as we chatted.
I really enjoyed meeting the ladies and finally putting some faces to the ones I have followed on blogs....

Sunday the Easter bunny left plenty of goodies and I had a chats with family and friends..

Then hubby took us to the beach...
away from other folk for a swim...

Hadn't put my feet in the sand for three weeks and it felt lovely....

the water was divine and Lacy and I enjoyed our swim....

After a shower and some lunch I went into The Cave to finish the
stitching on the pouch and put it together...

I added "Online" to the label Anni designed .

Another holiday today but as we are retired and no visitors it just like any other day in isolation.. Thankfully I always have lots of sewing projects to work on and hubby goes to his huge shed as there's always something to do...

Must away now and clean the birdbaths...

Happy Stitching and take care and stay safe...

Hugs  Maria ❤

while I'm busy joining the rows for
the WOOFA  Challenge

And also swapping machines to do some appliqueing on the racing cars....

Well must away and do a lap around the block while it's cooler.. Another 38 deg today...

Wishing you all A Happy Easter  and stay safe....
