First OPAM and FnwFs for 2019

Firstly I'd like to thank Peg for all the years of organising OPAM with Kris and I'm delighted that Kris has decided to continue for 2019... As this is the 10th year Kris's GB has designed a fabulous new logo.....

I have two finishes for the start of the year , you can see the first one HERE in previous post and I've also completed a  " Quilt of Love "

I forgot that I had also finished a  "Mesh Bag "  at retreat earlier this month...
Thanks Fiona for reminding me..

Thank you and good luck organising us all this year for OPAM  Kris...

Tomorrow night is the first Friday of the month and even though Cheryll may still be on her way home from cruising she has still put up the link HERE for us to join in.....

I'll be working on my   "Bloom " Blocks...

Must away now to get ready for my morning dip with the ladies......

The week that Was.........

Last Saturday one of our bobbing ladies had a birthday and we went to the "Green Beanie"  ( a vintage caravan done up as a coffee van ) after our dip for a cuppa and cake...

Helen was the birthday girl, lady centre in blue with no hat...
and Merle baked the cake , front left , showing lots of leg....

I worked all week on "Sunday Stitchers" No 10 challenge .....

Lots of quilting and the grey background was weird stretchy fabric...

but I had fun and I was pleased I got the quilt finished even though I did this..

Used a metal skewer as a tool and it slipped and went through the top of my thumb.....thankfully it looks worse than it was and has healed quickly and I got no blood on the quilt,

Thank you ladies for letting me join in your UFO challenge as it's kept me motivated . Hope I can keep it up !!!!

Last Sunday a new No was drawn for "Sunday Stitchers".....   No 8

On list list it's my " Pinata" Blocks......

Wonder how many I can get done ???????

Over the Christmas/ New Year break I took home some homework for " Days For Girls "

and have managed to work on these shields.....

Hopefully I can complete them before our first meeting on first Tuesday in Feb.......

Must away as the washing machine is calling......

Happy Stitching

FNSI for Jan

I had a great two evenings sewing along with the Wonderful Wendy and 25 others for FNSI and also enjoyed a second night with the ladies in the Northern Hemisphere.

" Fancy Forest " was under the machine being quilted ......

I'm shadow quilting around all the critters and flowers in grey first and it's taking longer than I thought.

I guess slowly does it and it will be done by the end of the month , I hope...

Thank you Wendy for organizing us again this year for FNSI and don't forget to visit others HERE..

Must away and get ready for my morning dip,

"BLOOM" Party.

Today I've joined Cheryll for the "BLooMerS PaRTy " and it's time to  link up and show you what fabrics I'm using for the quilt.

A charm pack of Riley Blakes "Midnight Blooms" plus fabrics from my stash and for the backgrounds found two different pieces in the cupboard which I'll use in alternate blocks...

I decided to visoflex flowers and machine applique the them onto my blocks.

I'll try to get two done each fortnight sew I can complete a quilt for our "Quilt  Hanging" in October 2019.....

My first two blocks ..... will do borders later as I'm not sure which fabrics to use yet.....
Thanks Cheryll for organising the SAL and it will be great to see what others have made.....

Must away as it's 43deg C outside sew I'll get to the shop quickly and home to the cool Air Con and sew along with the ladies from the Northern Hemisphere to continue my  FNSI with the Wonderful Wendy and Ladies........

Happy Stitching

First FNSI for 2019.....

The Wonderful Wendy is organising us again this year for FNSI and this Friday is the first one for the year... Do pop over HERE to sign up. It's fun to sew along with others and then visit them to see what they have all worked on....

I'm hoping to work on   "Fancy Forest". Have made a new flower in a darker grey fabric ...( See previous post)  Even though it was fiddley it now looks sew much better.....Shame I didn't have a lovely design board ( like the one at retreat) to take the photo. Just pegged it on my blind on the porch.....

Looks like a leadlight window but you can see the grey Flower looks sew much better....

I've also joined Cheryll for the "BLOOM SAL"  and have the first two blocks ready to blanket stitch on the machine sew I can link my post  with Cheryll and others  on Saturday 19th Jan...

Must away now and organise wadding and backing for "Fancy Forest"

Happy Stitching,

Hugz  Maria  😄

Home Again

after four wonderful fun filled days with my friends at retreat.....It was great to just sit and stitch while someone did all the cooking , dishes and cleaning ....

On my list was to get "My Angels Story" together....

Now to find a suitable border....

Nice to have worked on No 10 of the "Sunday Stitchers Challenge" Fancy Forest...

I think I may need to redo the top of the grey flower, as its too light and blends into the background. I know I won't be happy if I don't do it.......

A few weeks ago Fiona from Bubz Rugz posted a Mesh Bag she made and it reminded me I had some mesh in the cupboard sew popped it into my retreat box and Taaa Dahhhh

I also worked on "Land Down Under" by Toni Alexander    Which is also on my UFO list

Mumma and BabyKanga's still need eyes and I have lost half of Mr Emu's bow tie.. Must be in the Cave somewhere.

Not sure why the colours in the photos taken at retreat are very dark ???????

Must away now and get to bed ........

Happy Stitching
