FNSI for February

I always enjoy joining in with Wendy and friends for FNSI as it pushes me to get something organised to sew. BUT before I could I needed to clean and give my machine some tender loving care.....

Once it was all cleaned, oiled and a new needle. I was on a roll and got all of last year's RSC half log cabin sewn together.

As it was still early  I decided to cut and sew some more of these blocks for my Mystery Laundry Basket top WHEN the power went out AGAIN at 11pm.......

So I just went to bed...Power was restored at 9am this morning.

Must away now and find a backing and some wadding to hopefully finish above top.

Happy Stitching.      Hugs Maria  ❤

RCS for 2023

This is the third year I've joined Angela for the RSC and it's always fun to make a few different blocks and turn them into great community quilts. ( I still need to put last years together.)

While thinking about which blocks to do this year, I saw that Susan had chosen to do  " I Spy" blocks , this was I pattern I had done many years ago and it makes a great quilt. Thanks Susan for the idea... This month's colours is  " Bright and Dark blues"

The second block I'm doing is a simple                        3 1/2" X 5 1/2" one
Must away now and peg some washing.

Happy Stitching

Hugs Maria ❤

First FnwFs for 2023

I was pleased to see Cheryll was organising us again this year for FnwFs as I really needed a push some encouragment to get my Mojo back. So I serviced the machine and got started.
First I worked on sewing some of the HSTs for the border on the Laundry Basket Quilt,

One side is nearly done and while sewing them I also worked on a chevron baby quilt .

After reading Janice's 2023 Goal List where she noted an old cross stitch UFO I remembered I also had one tucked away that I started in 2001. So when I was tired of sewing I worked on it.

This was where I started .

Happy with the small progress I made before calling it a night.

Thank you Cheryll for a fun afternoon /evening of stitching with you and the ladies.

Must away now to read what others have done.

Hugs  Maria ❤
