OPAM finishes for July 2020.

Yes it's time to link up with the lovely KRIS for OPAM and post what we've finished this month..
Thank you  for keeping us focused to have some finishes each month.
My first two finishes are posted HERE.

I 've quilted and put the bindings on my placemats made from the scraps left from the quilt ....

Completed a girly quilt for NICU
When I was in Spotlight last week I picked up a Polar Fleece remnant plus same flannelette to match and made a new rug for Lacy.

I think she liked it as she snuggled under it on my chair very quickly...

But the BIGGEST finish for this month has to be the shed Hubby and I built even though its not sewing related.....

Hubby even fixed that wonky door....

Must away and give hubs a lift into town ...

Happy Stitching and stay well.....

WOOFA Progress for July 2020

My WOOFA that I'm working on with Cheryll and others is " Urban Owls" by Wendy Williams. This month I made an Ohio Star block and I'm working on the first house..

Still have to applique the stems and flowers on and also find the right fabrics for the bird...Hope to have the block complete soon and start on House 2..

How are you all going with your progress this month ladies ???

I've set my comment on moderation as I seem to be getting many unwanted comments, have noticed some other bloggers are too. :(

Must away and join the ladies at Patch, be nice to catch up, chat and stitch...

Happy stitching and stay well.

Catching up...

Over the past few months Hubby and I have been doing a lot of work on our 5 acre block . First trimming trees that you can see HERE and then remove stumps posted HERE

Next we ordered a huge 12 cubic metre skip bin to clear the back of the shed ready to erect a new garden shed.

Was so good to clear out all the junk we'd collected over the past 20 years and then Hubby leveled the ground and framed it up for the cement to be poured for the little shed.

The shed was a prefab thing which was supposed to be simple to put together ......

Well we sure spent many hours pulling out our hair and it sure tried our patience but we did keep going and got all the sides done..

now to get the roof  together and put on the doors ...

We had so much trouble with the door on the right , just wouldn't fit right so for now it can stay as is.....

Finally completed and we'll never make another again.....

Even though we filled the huge skip bin there's more BUT they are things that MAY come in handy. LOL...

Thankfully in the evening I was able to trace some stitcheries , sit relax and sew....

Must away as it's time to do into town for the paper and coffee...

Stay healthy and enjoy some me time.

Hugs  Maria  ❤

FNSI for July 2020

It was the third Friday of the month yesterday and even though dear Wendy had a scare this week she still organised us for a lovely evening of sewing together at FNSI....
Do hope all went well with tests Wendy..

I always like to have a few things ready to sew for these special evenings and this week I finally quilted " Intrepid Traveller" a quilt I put together while in isolation . It is a pattern from this years "Quilt Calendar" and made by finally cutting up a Bundle of FQs I had in the cupboard for years....  last night I put on the binding and now it's completely have a finish...
When I was cutting up all the blocks for the quilt and I was tossing the off cuts into the bin and

because this was some fabrics I treasured thought could I make something from these scraps ????
so I retrieved them from the bin...

and started to sew them together as a leader and ender project into 5" blocks
sew last night I sewed six scrappy blocks together , used  FQ s for sashing and made them into placemats.

now ready to be sandwiched and quilted.
I'm pleased I saved the scraps.....

next was to sandwich , quilt and put the binding on this small wall Hanging ......

It was my No 12 UFO from Sunday Stitchers so I'm pleased I finished it in time....

Thank you Wendy  for a great evening of sewing and will enjoy visiting other over the weekend HERE

Must away and get the washing off the line,

Happy stitching and stay safe everyone.

Hugs  Maria ❤

FnwFs for July 2020

Even though Cheryll was off on a road trip with her hubby in the caravan she still kindly put up the  Linky  for our FnwFs GTG...
I always enjoy these nights as I get organised to work on a project with all the other ladies...
This week I got out my stash and sorted through some fabrics to start "Trail Mix"

cut up a pile of squares etc ready to sew ..

After making the first few blocks I wasn't sure if I liked the way it looked  ?????

Just TOO scrappy ????

But after dinner I keep sewing and when I took a photo before going to bed I was happier with how it was turning out.....

I'm not sewing the blocks together yet as I can see I'll be swapping some around ....

This morning I got out the step ladder and moved the blocks higher on the design wall .Of course I swapped some and the top right hand corner one I decided needs some adjustments....

I must away now , have some lunch, check out some ladies blogs HERE and get back to sewing...... I think I'm hooked...

Happy stitching, keep safe and well,

Hugs  Maria  ❤
