Retreat 2 (lots of photos)

While at  "Avalon"  a visit into Toodyay is a must to go the Christmas Shop,

There is just sew much to see but I only took photos of the lovely chair next to the cosy fire

 Santa's chair

and this display of gingerbread houses.

Now on with the photos of some of the things the ladies worked on....

Firstly I'll show you Val's quilt.... All done bar the binding.... She's an amazing 90 year young lady....

Allison will be a Grandma for the first time soon and made this lovely playmat. Only has the binding to do.

She had started this gorgeous 1930s Hexie quilt many many years ago and Val spent some time over the past months finishing it for Allison. It now pinned ready for Allison to hand quilt on the weekend.

Jan has a few friends whose family are expecting babes sew she was busy putting some little quilts together.

This one needs some more snipping.

Pinned ready to quilt.

Jenny's colourful blocks being put together.....

Maree preparing the next applique block for her quilt.

Di's first row of her new project.

Joanne spent the weekend on this fabulous bead Peacock.

Leonie worked on the fantastic colourful blocks while her daughter Kerry completed all these Forest Friends .....

I was delighted to have completed my blocks for "Soul Searching" and sew them together...

Also worked on My Angels and Santas but didn't get a photo will take them will I get home.

Before leaving we had a group .........

Now I'm spending a few days in the big smoke visiting my DD and family and going to" Aladdin" tomorrow...

Must away to help prep dinner.

Relaxing at Retreat....Part 1

Last week I was busy cutting projects ready to take to our annual Retreat at Avalon in Toodyay.

I like the Emus in the Everlasting garden ...

Early mornings are very cold and there's usually a thick fog.

Perfect weather to be inside and keep busy sewing.....

and our lovely member Val  (centre) even got her huge flimsy ready to pin...

with the help of Vicki , Allison and Jenny ( on table).. and I cant believe that Val got the quilting completed...

Well must away to do some more sewing but will show you what ladies have been working on tomorrow.

FNSI

I had an early start to FNSI with the lovely Wendy and twenty others as Hubby goes to RSL and I have a few hours of me time.....

As the two Santas were cut out it wasn't long before they were stuffed and ready to dress.

After picking hubby up and having dinner it was time to go back in The Cave to cloth these guys...

No 3 Santa needs his pants pulled up or he'll trip ......

and I realised that No 2 in the long dress was nude underneath.

sew I made him some boxers....

That's better....... I decided to put the Santas away for now and work on My Angels...

I had completed the stitching on "Sophie the Social Butterfly" sew just did the machine applique the fabric pieces.

This small block of Hearts only needed to be machine appliqued sew didn't take long.
I didn't manage to do any of My Small World ..

Thanks Wendy for another lovely evening sewing.. Will pop over HERE over the next few days to see what others have done...

Must away as the washing machine is beeping.
