Retreat Time ....

Thursday afternoon I arrived At Avalon Homestead in Toodyay for our Patch's annual retreat...
This is my room for the next few days ..

After settling in it was down to work and the first job was to sew all the buttons on for my "Scrappy Sheeps" eyes...A Toni Alexander design from Red Boot Company  Which was No 6 in last months Sunday Stitchers challenge...

Most are now done, just need some white buttons to finish them all...

Then it was onto my next project which is "Land Down Under" No 9 from Sunday Stitchers Challenge this month and another Toni Alexander Design

Blocks put together and now onto making Flying Geese.....

Ready to sew on and then it was time to get ready for our "Mad Hatter's Tea Party"

We did all have a great laugh when each of us appeared with our Mad Hats on....

Must away now to go back and sew some more "GEESE"

Happy Stitching..

Hugs  Maria 😊

FNSI for August.

After going to my exercise group yesterday I popped down to our club room to pin the Scrappy Sheep ready to quilt for FNSI  with Wendy and friends..

I was lucky to arrive just as Allison and Helen were there dropping off things from the Expo sew they kindly helped me get it sandwiched and pinned.

Love the background I found for the sheep.....

All set for an evening of quilting but someone else decided it would be a good place to hide from the thunderstorm

Finally with Lacy put into her bed I was happily quilting along when NO POWER...... this often happens here when there's thunder and rain .. I waited for awhile playing on my IPad and when the power didn't come back on I went to bed....  😢

This morning the powers on and its still raining sew good day to try and finish the quilt....But this happened.

I started looking for something I wanted to pack to take to retreat on Thursday. Of course every box I looked in the project wasn't in there....

After an hour or more I finally found what I wanted and it's now packed ...

My projects packed in the tub ready to take and I have a tidy Cave.....

Before getting distracted again I thought I'd make coffee and do my post...
Thank you Wendy for having us join in for our FNSI even after your internet troubles...

Must away and get back to quilting....
Happy Stitching,
Hugs  Maria 😊

The week that was !

Last weekend I put together some orphan blocks I brought back from Perth that were my DDs and made a "Quilt of Love"

Monday worked on finishing some Shields for "Days for Girls"  ....

completed 30 ready to deliver for the GTG on Tuesday...

After the GTG I decided to do some work on The Block as it was a beautiful sunny day...
Even this little fella took advantage of the day , basking in the Sun for ages....

Then Wednesday we had lots of much needed rain, sew I spent time in the Cave and made this little Iron Caddy...

when opened it is an ironing mat...
It will be handy for going on retreat.

Today was spent at Mingenew Expo for our Patchwork Club to sell raffle tickets and show folk some of our work and also advertising our Quilt Hanging which will be held in October...

Tomorrow I'll be joining Wendy for FNSI ... Wendy is having trouble with her internet but she hopes we will still join her an evening of crafting.....

Must away now and make a cuppa.

Happy Stitching,

Hugs  Maria 😊

Nearly forgot to link up with Myra for the Jelly Roll Wave SAL but pleased to I remembered in time to link up with others..

As my Jelly Roll only had 20 pieces could only make a crib size top.....

I hope to source a suitable colour fabric sew I can add a 2 1/2" white border and then a final bigger one to make the quilt a bit bigger...

Must away now and pop over HERE to see what others have made..

Happy Stitching

Special Visitors and SnwFs August 2019

I didn't do any sewing for FnwFs with Cheryll and ladies as we had some very special visitors...
It was Jo from ButterZ , ( She's been mine blogging friend for many years ) her hubby Tony and brother Graham.... They live on the other side of Aussie so it was sooooooooooo great to meet them...
We enjoyed a lovely evening chatting and getting to know each other sew no stitching got done....

In the morning after breakfast it was time for our visitors to hit the road again on their way to Darwin....
It was wonderful to spend time with Jo as well as her hubby and brother....

Bye my Friends and safe travels.. XXX

Jo gave me a magic bag and a pattern sew I can make one myself...

When opened it has a little pocket in the left hand corner.

Then you tuck in the fabric pull the zipper all the way round and you have a different shaped bag with a square bottom.. Magic.....

Thank you Jo...

Last Thursday I had started making some place mats  from a Jelly Roll so this afternoon I decided to go into the Cave and join in with my friends from the Northern Hemisphere for their FnwFs ...

I managed to get 5 completely finished

Have to sew the binding for another 3 but that will be another day...

Thank you Cheryll for organising our monthly sewing night.
You can pop over HERE to see what others have worked on....

Must away now as it's time to get ready for bed.....

Happy Stitching..

Hugs  Maria 😊
