Lockdown FNSI April 2020

Yesterday morning Hubby and I trimmed another four trailer loads of trees after which he took me to my favorite swimming hole to cool down.. Was a 30 deg day ....I was the only one in the water as hubby doesn't go in but sits on his coke crate to make sure I'm safe.....

In the afternoon it was time to go into "The Cave " for FNSI . When  I rummaged through my fabric cupboard and I came across this pile of fabrics

that had been put aside ages ago to make a "Super Hero " quilt ...

I used this simple pattern .

Sew after cutting it out and laying the blocks on the bed ( my design wall ) to sort where to put them it didn't take long to sew it together. Then I had a piece of  fabric for the backing ,not a perfect match BUT thought it would do. All sandwiched pinned ready to quilt after dinner....

Even got the binding on and then I was about 1 1/2 " short . Sew I got out my bag of left over bindings because I knew I'd use this before . Yes I could see a peice ....

and it was enough....

Last night I completed the quilt and even put a label in the corner...

Completed an unplanned project  thanks to Wendy for our FNSI ..

Look forward to seeing what others have done HERE

Must away and getting ready to help hubby again ..

Happy Stitching , Stay safe and well.

Hugs  Maria  ❤

  20. I’ve just been catching up on your last few posts. You’ve both been busy with those trees and you in the sewing cave. I can’t believe how quickly you finished that quilt. I’m glad you had some down time too and enjoyed your swim.
