Storms, One Flower Wednesday and Mail.

We are in the midst of summer here with temps in the 40’s for the past few days.
003
We had some wild storms which resulted in a power failure.
No power for us from 5pm last night to 10am this morning. Thank goodness for our generator. We were able to have light , keep the fridge going, the tele and a pump so we could have water for drinking, showers and the toilet.

I was able to sit and stitch my hexies.

and stuff “Addie’s” arms, legs and head.

008
then managed to sew her together this afternoon.

013
She will be going with her cousin”Roman” to live in NZ.

Look what I was lucky enough to received from Fiona today.

006
Lots of great woollen squares, can’t wait till it gets cool enough to find a project to sew out of them……………thank you Fiona……

  2. Storms can be so destructive, but the loss of electricity can temporarily be not so awful, right? I could manage for about a half a day, maybe an entire day, but then I would be missing my computer, tv, and sewing machine! I would do the same as you, and take out some handwork. I do love the hexis and the doll. See, you made good use of your time! Glad all is well and you are all safe and sound!

  8. Understand about the inconvenience that comes with no electricity - we too rely on it for our pump to supply the house with water (bore to just about everthing here). Thankfully we have a gravity fed water tank for the drinking water which comes to the kitchen via a separate tap. Getting the 40c days here too - dry heat so the evaprotative air con works well :) (providing there is power of course LOL) Good thing you had the hand sewing - it all looks fabulous! Have a great Australi Day today.
