shopping for fabrics to use for my EPP project "La Passcagalia" and the stripey one for bindings
AND I bought a new sewing machine. A Bernina 570QE Since arriving home and setting up the machine I've spent many hours learning how it works, so very different from th Bernina 440QE ... First I played with doing various stitches,
getting used the pressure foot going down as soon as you start sewing and then up again automatically is weird...
to get the hang of it I did some straight sewing This months Aussie Hero Blocks were great to make.
and I've also been practicing appliqueing by using the buttonhole stitch.
I think I've rambled on long enough and if you've hung in till the end , thank you.

Must away as it's nearly midnight and time for bed.
Take care and hope you have some time to stitch,
Hugs Maria ❤

ReplyDeleteIt's nice to hear that you had a good time away and a good little shopping spree too. You have got plenty to keep you busy with lovely new fabrics and not to mention a new machine - I hope it does everything you want it to do ♥. I still have my 440QE - it seems quite an oldie now!

ReplyDeleteIt was a nice AND productive trip! How nice it was to come home with a new Bernina. It was very hard for me to get used to that presser foot. I also had some feeding issues with the wider feed dogs until I got a single holed needle plate. Teaching old dogs new tricks!!! lol. I’ll be looking forward to your coasters.
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good trip! I'm not brave enough to go to a cinema yet, but it doesn't look like there was much of a crowd in that session. Have fun with your new machine, and those lovely fabrics.
