FNSI for July 2020

It was the third Friday of the month yesterday and even though dear Wendy had a scare this week she still organised us for a lovely evening of sewing together at FNSI....
Do hope all went well with tests Wendy..

I always like to have a few things ready to sew for these special evenings and this week I finally quilted " Intrepid Traveller" a quilt I put together while in isolation . It is a pattern from this years "Quilt Calendar" and made by finally cutting up a Bundle of FQs I had in the cupboard for years....  last night I put on the binding and now it's completely have a finish...
When I was cutting up all the blocks for the quilt and I was tossing the off cuts into the bin and

because this was some fabrics I treasured thought could I make something from these scraps ????
so I retrieved them from the bin...

and started to sew them together as a leader and ender project into 5" blocks
sew last night I sewed six scrappy blocks together , used  FQ s for sashing and made them into placemats.

now ready to be sandwiched and quilted.
I'm pleased I saved the scraps.....

next was to sandwich , quilt and put the binding on this small wall Hanging ......

It was my No 12 UFO from Sunday Stitchers so I'm pleased I finished it in time....

Thank you Wendy  for a great evening of sewing and will enjoy visiting other over the weekend HERE

Must away and get the washing off the line,

Happy stitching and stay safe everyone.

Hugs  Maria ❤
