It's That Time Again

to post our finishes for OPAM with the wonderful KRIS who keeps us on track each month....Thanks heaps as I know you're a very busy lady...

Some time ago I bought a Panel of four   "Bear Families"  which I have made into four Quilts Of Love.....

also made four Chalk Fabric Rolls

and  I completed my No 5 UFO challenge with the Sunday Stitchers ,

An armchair caddy designed by Helen Stubbings from Hugs n Kisses....

which I gifted to my DD who had a surprise gift for me too!

It's a lovely bright rope basket which she made from bits of scrap of binding she'd saved.... DD had bought the rope when we visited the Craft Fair many years ago to make me a basket.
                                   " They say all good things come to those that wait" LOL.

This weekend I am going to Party with my blogging buddy and virtual friends sew

I must away to organise " The Cave" ready to just sew........

Days Two,Three and Home...

Friday  DD and I went went to a special  Military Antique Shop  to take hubby's medals to be re-done... and afterwards enjoyed a lovely coffee morning tea/lunch at a little cafe tucked away next door....
Then onto some clothes stores and fabric/wool place.. I come home empty handed but DD bought some wool. In the afternoon I had a nice visit with my sister..

Saturday we got up early as my GS had a fencing competition...

I really enjoyed watching and learning how they fence and score... Lucky I knew that it was my GS facing us .......

After spending  a very busy enjoyable few days at my DDs  it was time to drive home on Sunday, then unpack and wind down by doing some more knitting....

Did need to undo it several times while away before I got the cable pattern right... Got it now.... Maybe it will be a Beanie yet.......

Yesterday there was a parcel in the post for me..... This book I had ordered... Sew many great quilts

would love to make one of them but have to stay strong and get some of my UFOs done first.....

Must away now and go into town for food shopping......,

Day One at the Show.

Last Wednesday I drove down to the big smoke to spend a few days with family and go to the Craft Show...

Thursday DD, a friend and I  hopped on a train, which was full of like minded folk all going to the show.

I am always in awe of all the talented ladies who make these amazing quilts...

we had a great time catching up with friends enjoying a lovely lunch chatting and checking out all the stalls . These were my only purchases.

The little blue things go around a bobbin ,

wonder how long I'll use them for ????

FNSI for May

Or should it be FNKI as I'm in the big smoke and only got a chance to do some Knitting at my DD 's with Wendy and the other ladies sew I'll just do a quick post and catch up with a longgg one when I get home......

Hope you're feeling much better now Wendy and thank you for organising us again this May...

BlooMerS ParTy

Had a lovely time this afternoon sewing my blocks for the BlooMerS ParTy over at Cheryll's Place ....

Made Blocks 17 and 18.....Only two more and then sew the blocks together....Thanks Cheryll for having our linky party each fortnight.. Great to see what others have sewn too...

There is also some other BlooMs at my place..... My nasty cactus "Horrible" has been producing a lovely display over the past few days.

Sadly the flowers only last a few days and now he just has prickly spikes......

Must away and get the washing in .......

Some finishes....

At the Sunday Stitchers GTG last month No 5 was the UFO challenge No and this was mine ......

A lovely Armchair Caddy I started a few years ago when Helen Stubbings  from Hugs and Kisses come over to Geraldton to do a workshop with us and this was our gift. 

I had done most of the stitching and sew I worked on finishing the rest and putting the Caddy together.....




I'm happy to have completed it before this Sunday when the girls met again and will pick another Challenge No... I'm looking forward to seeing what it will be ?????

Some time ago I saw a fabric chalk roll Helen made and decided that they would make great gifts for little ones .. I ordered the special chalk fabric which arrived this week and with a little help from Helen  made one 

and then I was on a roll and made three more .....


They are now tucked away for special little ones later in the year ..

Must away and make a nice warm Milo before going to bed...

BlooMerS PaRty ....

A very quick post for the  BlooMerS PaRty  organised by the lovely Cheryll  . Thanks heaps for keeping us on track......

I managed to get two blocks completed yesterday ...

Our Patchwork group have been invited by the Geraldton group to join them for their " Mother's Day Luncheon....  Opps have run out of time,  must go finish post later.....

Home again after a wonderful time sharing a delicious lunch and lots of lovely show and tell by both groups. Others took photos but I was busy chatting . I was lucky to win a prize of a lovely potted chrysanthemum.....  

  

will replant into a better pot and have pretty display for " Mother's Day " next week...

Must away and see what I can find for dinner ???

FnwFs for May

Where oh where has this year gone  ????  As it's the first Friday of the month again it's time to join the lovely Cheryll and friends for FnwFs... Thanks Cheryll for putting up our link to sew even though you've just returned from a fabulous busy holiday..

Last week I bought a panel of four little Bears and I decided it would be nice to make something nice and quick, Sew I cut out two of the Bears for a couple of " Quilts of Love "

Before picking Hubby up from his RSL I added a border on each and then sandwiched them and popped them next to my machine....

On my return I picked up the little quilt and started quilting ... After doing the centre I realised it was a bit THICK..... Can you guess what I did ????

  Yep !  I'd sewn the two quilts together ....

I can't believe I didn't hit any pins on the quilt underneath and break a needle !

After an hour of reverse sewing I got back to completing  both quilts just after midnight..                                      

                     After the little set back I am happy with the two little quilts..... 


Must away now and make a few BlooMs to link up for the BlooM ParTy
