The week that was...

Last Wednesday and Thursday I attended a work shop in Geraldton with Helen Stubbings  from HugsnKisses .. We spend two lovely relaxing days ,

Amazing views and we kept watch for any passing whales ,but no luck....

The first day Helen showed us how to work with colour pencils ,

Maybe one day mine MAY get finished and look a little like this....

Day two was a sit and stitch day, oh! also chatting and eating..

Was sew nice to met Helen  and learn some new techniques.......

Hubby had been away on a bush camping trip and on his return I washed his favorite dusty old quilt which I thought should be binned BUT he insisted I could mend it for him......

Took some time sorting through my stash and pinning on all the patches. Needed some big ones to cover the holes but when I finished sewing them on Hubby was pleased..

I've also made a few "Doggy Blocks" to send to Karen from KaHolly who is collecting them to help folk from Hurricane Harvey

You can read about it at Karen's Blog HERE.. I will be making a few more...

Also made my 6 blocks for Fat Quarter Shop  Quilt-Along..

but as I sewed till 1am to finish them I realised when I took the photo only two were sewn together correctly... Guess I need to do some ripping...         GRRRRRRR!!!!!!

Happy Stitching

Maria :)

  1. Great to read about your days with Helen Stubbings, Maria... too bad the whales didn't turn up!
Good job on the quilt repairs & doggy blocks.
I reckon anyone's sewing would be dodgy by 1am, so don't be too hard on yourself, ha ha!

and don't you hate it when you are soo pleased with yourself in getting a project all done--but then--
you realize how 'wrong' you were in putting it together--so comes those seam rippers!!!
I still have to do mine for Sept!!!
    enjoy the moments, di
