In March we attended Lynette Anderson Workshop and were asked if we'd like to make a Pincushion to swap with other ladies...
I spent hours sewing the Hexies and the idea was to have a beautiful big hexagon pincushion with the stitchery we were sent....
Even though I stuffed and re stuffed my pincushion several times I couldn't get it to look right...
I hurriedly made a simple square one for the swap.
Here are all the beautiful ones others made and you can see the one my DD made which I was lucky to receive in the swap....
thank you Ida and Sis for organising the Perfectly Pleasing Pincushion Parade for the third year...
Happy Stitching
Hugz Maria :)
Oh Maria, I like how your hexie pincushion looks but I know what you went through trying to make it round. I made a Dresden plate and tried and tried to get it to look round after stuffing. I just hated how mine looked and that's my entry for the UGLY pincushion. Thanks for joining our parade.
ReplyDeleteThe stitchery is lovely, and you could think the pincushion is a flower with the hexagons as roundish petals.
ReplyDeleteMaria you put so much work into that lovely hexagon pincushion. I hate when things we work so hard on won't cooperate!
ReplyDeleteI actually quite like your pin cushion! I need to find the time today or tomorrow to get mine posted. DH was supposed to be gone this week, and I had a lovely Home Alone week planned, but his trip was cancelled because of Irma. :-(
ReplyDeleteWhat a shame that you had problems with the stuffing as it is such a beautiful pincushion. Lovely collection of swap pincushions. xx
ReplyDeleteI feel it!! I've had wonderful visions of pretty pin cushions, only to end up with strange shapes and odd lumps. Yours is still a lovely wee cushion though and seems to be performing well!
ReplyDeleteIt's nice to take part in a swap.
nothing wrong with a few lumps and bumps - I have them too!! haha...

I think your pincushion looks great! It's handmade and that in itself makes it special. After all, most of us are rather lumpy and bumpy so why can't our pincushions be the same?
ReplyDeleteI certainly would not consider it ugly. It's so frustrating when you work so hard on something and then have it not turn out like you expect.
ReplyDeleteI really like it. I always have a major fail when stuffing anything lol! Looks like a fun swap all the same x
ReplyDeleteWell by now I hope you are happier with the lumpy and bumpy pin cushion - I love the idea but can imagine it would be very hard to stuff..probably needed a stiff backing for each hexie...
ReplyDeleteLovely collection.
I don't think your pin cushion is ugly! xxx
ReplyDeleteGreat selection of pin cushions...
ReplyDeleteI think it looks wonderful and unique ❤️
ReplyDeleteIt does look a bit lumpy. Funny how that happens sometimes. The stitching is lovely though.
ReplyDeleteOh, the trials and tribulations! It's quite pretty, you know.
ReplyDeleteI think it will reshape with use, it looks lovely .
ReplyDeleteYour stitching looks lovely. These things are never as easy to finish as we think they should be!
