Keeping Busy

I have been busy with my other life this week and have not done much sewing. Monday was such a lovely sunny day I went out into the garden to do some weeding. It's funny but the rabbits don't eat any weeds.

There are LOTS .

Remember my tiny trees I transplanted into these bigger pots.
Won't be long and I will be able to put them into the ground.

Then on Tuesday and again today I have been driven along
this highway to help my dear friend move.
It was a lovely drive home with lots of fields of Canola to look at.

When I got home I was pleased to pick these to put some colour in my home.

Out and About.

I was out and about this weekend but did get some sewing done too.

On Saturday our Red Hatters group, the Dongara Dizzy Dames, went out for lunch.

Sorry ,not a good photo.
We had a great afternoon chatting and having a lot of laughs. Joyce, third from left, did not have her hat so popped her handbag on her head. She is such a great lady and always fun of cheer.

Saturday night I worked on my " Fish Quilt". Another of my projects from my UFO boxes.

Sunday morning some of our swimming group met here for breakfast.
It is nice to catch up during the winter months.

Then in the afternoon I returned for coffee and cake .

After tea I went into the sewing room and managed to make these for the  Early Bird Christmas Crafting and also some finishes for the OPAM Challenge.

Potholders with heart quilting and cute red heart buttons.
Little IPod/Camera Pouches.

A tutorial I found on  Thimbelina's blog.

This and That

When I lifted down one of  boxes containing my
UFOs I found a lovely letter from my DG2
I have swapped the Dolphin for a fish and I was very careful.LOL

Yesterday I went to Geraldton,65kms away, to take my "Bargello" to the quilters.
I had a lovely day shopping and then spending the afternoon visiting my DD1and GD1.

Love the range of Xmas fabric I bought and some more material for my Baby Owl Quilt as well as a few pieces for a Pirate Quilt.

Went to Bunnings and bought some more tiny trees. When I saw the cute tricycle planter I just had to have it.
Today I put the tiny trees into these
and the last lot of tiny trees are now big enough to be planted out.
I have to put this wire cage around them so the rabbits don't eat them.

As I am sitting here I hear the rain which is great for my new trees.

Home Again!!

DH and I have been in Perth helping DD2 do this.

First the discussion on where to start.

DD2 and I cut in the bottom of the walls while DH did the top.

After completeing a room DH and I continued while DD2 started rolling the walls.
It is a BIG house, 520 square mitres of wall need to be sanded and then paint at least
two coats.
Day one,  bedroom No 3 painted.  Day two, the entry done plus study, guest room, bedroom 3
all have there first coat. On we go!!
Time for us to go home Friday morning but DD2 was very happy with what we all achieved.

Oh I would like to show you the linen cupboard.

Wish it was in my sewing room for my fabric stash. Trouble is it is nearly as big as my whole sewing room.

On the road again. We went a different way through a National Park. Beautiful big gum trees and lots of native trees too. Photo not to clear through a speeding car window.
It was a gorgeous Sunny day.

It was a lovely drive home.

Rooster Party Post.

I have joined the "Rooster Party " which is being held by Barb from Bella Vista. I have visited some of the folk who have participated and there are some absolutely beautiful Roosters.

My little collection mostly sit on the ledge around my kitchen.

The is Blue Pottery Rooster is one of my favorites.
Took him outside to get a better photo of him.

I did the cross stitch
many years ago
"Chooks in Boots"

The colours in the wall hanging are more vivid.
I seem to be having trouble taking photos this evening.

These are my tin ones.

Another favorite.

But best of ALL my Roosters is the one my GS Alex made.
Whenever we find feathers they are added to his tail.

I am away now to look at some more blogs!!!!

Early Bird Christmas Crafting and OPAM July Finishes.

These are the photos of my Early Bird Christmas Crafting for this month.
Had to go away for a week so I did not get as much done as I would have liked.

Enjoyed doing this stitchery for the small table topper.

Apple Cushions for a special friend. Can you see the small Tuffet too!

Black/White tea towels to pop into my xmas box.

QAYG Table Runner. These are such fun to make and easy too.

My Needle Case Holder for a swap can go into the OPAM Challenge

OH!! I must not forget my cute tuffets.

I had worked on a quilt all month and spent every spare minute on it but still only managed to get the top done. Ah well it will be a finish for next month Peg.
