Lucky Me!!!

When I opened my mail box today there was some nice mail and a white and red card. A parcel. Was very excited as I had not received my parcel from my Pillow Cover Swap

I hurried home so I could open up my mail.

Was just blown away by my beautiful Pillow Cover that Annie had made.  Look at the lovely stitching. My request was for country colours and birdhouses. Perfect.  Thank you Annie.
It now has pride of place on my lounge chair. Matches my Quilt really well.

Also  received more lovely siggy blocks from all over the world.
Thanks to all my swap ladies.

A walk around York part 2 / I did do some sewing!! part 3.

Early in the morning, when some of the smart ladies were still tucked in their warm beds, Three of us went for a walk. It was very cold but York is such a pretty place to wonder around.

So sad that some of my photos did not work well.
Think my fingers must have been numb.

Later on  ( when it was warmer)
I went for a wonder along the river and over the wonky swing bridge.

Too my surprise I came across these??

Teepee's with the local Indians and all.
Even though we did a lot of chatting eating and some walking I did manage to get some of my projects done out of my basket.

Two Stripy table runners for the No Strings Challenge
Xmas BOM

Also make a little Wonky Tree wall

Made these cards with my DD2 on Sunday night. Also for the Early Bird challenge.

PS.  Almost forgot. I put together some QAYG blocks which I hope to do more of for Friday Night Sew In this week.

Need to trim top 2.

Retreat in York Part 1

Went to Perth on Thursday some 400kms away. Had a great time catching up with friends and family before driving another 100kms to York on Friday.

It was so nice to see my quilty friends again and chat.

While others were busy in the kitchen

Of course I had to check out the fridge for the essential supplies

Do you like the our bedroom

The floors are very creaky and it is very hard to be quiet when going

to the loo in the middle of the night.

The sewing room. As you can see we do get some work done?

Sunday comes around far too quickly and it is time to pack the cars and make our way home.

Tomorrow, part 2. A Walk around York.

Getting Ready.

I have been getting ready for the "Early Bird Christmas Crafting" run by Judith. I have covered my Journal and organised my storage boxes too.

Also have found two fat eigths to take with me to our Scquilters retreat in York on the weekend.

I have packed my basket with many projects and HOPE to get them done over the two days. In between chatting and eating.

Morning Walk.

When I come home this morning I thought I would share what I see on my morning walk.

But first must make a coffee. OOPS! That's not my cup.

Coffee in the sugar bowl.

On arrival it is often still dark.

As we are walking along the sun is rising. What a glorious sight.

There is a lot of bird life on the estuary.

Beautiful Black Swans.
I counted 15 but could not get a good photo of them all.

An Ibis that seems to live there most of the year.

Can you see the Heron sitting on the rail???
The ocean over the sand dunes is where we swim in the warmer weather.
Driving home all the paddocks are lovely and green after some rain. The sheep love it and now all the new lambs are arriving too.
 Home Again!!!

And for some reason it has taken over two hours to do this post as the photos would not behave.
