First FNSI for 2021

It was already 45 deg Cel ( 113 deg Fah ) at 11am on the way home from the shops yesterday so I decided the "Cave" was the best place to be with the air con blasting and start sewing.

I joined Wendy for FNSI so got a nice early start on quilting the RCS quilt .

By the time I stopped to get some dinner organised I'd finished the quilting and got the binding ready to sew on...

Got back to sewing afterwards and completed the quilt.....

Thank you Wendy for organising our FNSI for another year and Dawn from Kitty Rose Cottage for donating the giveaway each month....

Must away and brave the heat to hang out some washing, Under the verandah thank goodness.

Stay safe and well..

Hugs  Maria ❤

  2. We have been hearing about those record breaking temps in WA. I agree the only place to be is in the cool sewing room. Love the layout of your RSC.

  6. Well done with the quilting and the finish of the quilt Maria. Gosh I struggle in our heat which isn't even over 30 (but humid) - so glad the cave is nicely air conditioned for you.

  9. What a varied country we live in. It’s been cool here - only getting to the low 20s this last week. It’s supposed to warm up next week. Mind you, I’m not complaining. I’d rather this than the temperatures you are getting. Thank goodness for sir con in your “Cave”. The quilt turned out great. Nice and cheerful.

  10. Great finish and perfect binding for the rainbow quilt. Here on the winter side of the world we are enjoying a very nice -6C with fresh new snow. I'm happy with geothermal central heating and triple glazed windows.

Was the washing dry almost as soon as you'd hung it out? LOL

  12. Oh gosh you are having quite a lot of very hot days aren't you. It will take your washing 3 minutes to dry (even under the shade). Love the quilt - it's so fresh and pretty.

  17. Yay a finish! I love the rainbow colors and the quilting lines. The binding is a delightful fabric as well.

It never gets that hot here - ever. That would be miserable.
