WOOFA Challenge and sign up for FnwFs

I've been meaning to do this post for days but I blink and the days over so before I even pop the kettle on I'll do my post....

Iv'e really tried to get on with my long term  WOOFA challenge but I'm really not enjoying it , I managed to quilt another block... My aim is to have it done before our quilt hanging next September but at this pace I don't think so ? Thanks Cheryll  for pushing me along.....

I used black cotton so you can't even see it. Should I use a different colour ?

You can see a bit on the back.

As it's the first Friday of month again don't forget to sign up with Cheryll  for FnwFs... Always fun to sew along with our virtual friends and then visit to see what we all have worked on......

Must away now and pop on that kettle for my Milo.....

Take care .

Hugs  Maria ❤

  1. Love your quilt peak, Maria. I don't always like to see the quilting thread and would be happy with what you are using. I suppose it is personal preference. We will be home from camping on Thursday and I look forward to sewing with you Friday night :)

  2. I always try to match my threads both top and bottom.....to me the quilting should be there as a function to hold all layers together not be the dominate feature. Just a personal preference. Looking good so far.

  4. Keep going witht he quilting .... a bit at a time and you will get there..... I like to used matchign threads so that it highlights the piecing you have done but if you wanted it to show you could just use a shade or two lighter..

  5. It is hard to keep at it when you aren't enjoying the process. But one block at a time will do it, and it is going to be fantastic in the end. It will look great at the quilt hanging, and everyone will admire it and you will feel chuffed that you got it done in time.

  6. I think using a coloured thread would maybe take away from the beautiful block you have created.
It is hard to stay motivated when you are not enjoying a project, so bite size pieces each month will get you there eventually.

  7. Usually i prefer matching threads it also helps with the little hic cups when i am free motion quilting. It will be a beautiful quilt when you finish just a little each day or every week you will be amazed how quickly it grows. The closer you get to a finish the more motivation also returns.

  9. Stick with the black, your blocks will pop even more. Even if you do one block a week, soon it will be done. Hang in there.

  12. It is looking so good Maria! I know sometimes we can't seem to get our hearts into some of our projects but I am sure you will get this one done! And just like Cheryll says...."just working on it counts!"
