Hugs Maria
Before I post the last finishes for December's OPAM I would like to say a huge THANK YOU to KRIS from Tag-a- Long Teddies for keeping us on track through another weird year......
now my finishes
1.... Black and White Challenge quilt.... We were given the B/W and had to add one colour...
2.... Hubby's " Aussie Flag" quilt..
He was very happy with the new one and now the old faded one I've patched several times can go into the car.
Lots of corner book marks like this one which was gifted to me last year by Helen and where I got the idea from to make them to pop into this years Christmas cards.......
Also piles of mini stocking for my bobbing friends......
Must away and bring in the washing.....
Keep safe and well,
Hugs Maria ❤
So much happy mail was sent .
Lovely Santa Button Ornament from Helen
Beautiful hand made card with felt Ornie which Michelle had stitched a tiny stocking on it...
A big thank you Wendy for keeping us going for FNSI during another crazy year. I always enjoy Friday evenings stitching along with all my friends .. I'm looking forward to joining in again for 2022...
For FNSI I finally finished stippling Hubby's "Aussie Flag" quilt after a hiccup,
because I had to keep the quilt folded in case Hubby come in and would see what I was sewing it got caught and I sewed it double so there was some unpicking.
It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas so for the last FnwFs for 2021 organised by Cheryll I decided to do some Christmas sewing with my friends....
I had an early start and the first thing I made was this "Gnome Mug Rug" .Another free design by Toni from Red Boot Quilt Company but she made it bigger for a place mat with stars ⭐️ on the side.
Where did November go? Can't believe it's time to post again for OPAM organised by Kris.... When I read Kris's post to remind us to update the side bar , do a post and send her an email I thought that I hadn't a finish for this month but I forgot about the two bags I made for "Days for Dignity" Even put zippers in them!
Huge thanks to both Cheryll and Kris for keeping me on track and inspired to work on my projects each month...
Must away and do a bit more quilting .
Stay safe and well.
Hugs Maria ❤
Before I could even start to sewing for FNSI with Wendy and friends I needed to clean the Cave and find a pattern I had put in a safe place last year and wanted to make?? I looked in most of the places I THOUGHT I could have put it and finally the last plastic tub I found it.....
After tracing and cutting all the pieces I started sewing ....
By the end of the evening it was time to birth the Pixie
today while joining Chooky and ladies from US, NZ , Germany and the other side of Aussie..on Zoom...I stuffed the PixieWas a fiddly job but I am very happy with him but I wanted him to have pants....
After dinner I found some fabric and got him dressed ...
The pattern I used was a free one from Shabby Art Boutique . Check out the link as Kerryanne as more free patterns... Thank you Kerryanne..
I must finish this post and go to bed,
Take care and stay safe,
Hugs Maria ❤
In the midst of the chaos I was working through a list of things I wanted to get done ........
First the tea towels for my swap.....Done and I'm happy to have popped them in the post....
Next the blocks for Aussie Hero's and they have also been posted..
I wanted to get the border on the Down Under flimsy so I can get it off the design wall.....
It sure took a lot of time because I decided to change it from the original one...
Really made me appreciate the math Toni does to make all the gorgeous borders for her quilts.......
It was time to for a backing and I was great to find this one in my cupboard.
While I was on a roll I cut the wadding. Packed the flimsy, backing ,wadding and pins into a bag and down to the Patch club room to sandwich and pin the quilt........ it makes easier when there a four big tables to do the job on and not a sewing day.....
Ready to be quilted ?????????
The reason for getting these projects out of the way is because I really wanted to make a couple of bags for
There's been a Jelly Roll waiting for a special project and this was it..
It's such a great cause and I am pleased to have finished two bags and filled each one so I can deliver them tomorrow.....
Oh!! Nearly forgot . I also got another spider web block made as a leader and ender for the Row by Row between projects...Do pop over so you can sign up and met her gorgeous Grandson Ryker....
Take care and Happy stitching
Hugs Maria ❤
