GTG, OPAM and Woofa Finishes......

Another week and month has flown by so it's time to post my finishes with the lovely ladies Kris for OPAM and Cheryll for the WOOFA Challenge. But first I have some Show and Tell one of our Patch members brought along this week at our GTG....

We met at the Marina in the shelter and it was a lovely spot to sit chat and do some hand sewing, well I think we did more chatting....

( you can see where we do some of our fabric shopping !!)

Remember the block I made HERE .They are now all sewn together .. I really like  how the flimsy looks.... It's now off to be quilted....

Yvonne has been very busy while in isolation and made and quilted the above quilt and also got her "Angels Story " made into a flimsy ..



After the GTG I went to the clubroom ( by myself ) and pinned two quilts...

Thanks to both ladies for keeping me focused to get at least one finish this month.....

 these blocks sewn together are the ones left over from the Scrappy Flip Flop Quilt .. Be great to have that finished soon....







Well must away and find my No 11 for Sunday Stitchers and work on it......

What a Difference a Few Days Make.

Last Thursday our Patch group meet in the Town Park for a get together ... It was a lovely sunny day and just perfect to sit  apart in the park to catch up , chat and do some hand stitching.....

We had beautiful weather on both Friday and Saturday too but today a big storm rolled in bringing with it strong wind gusts so we lost power . As it's been so dry in the Midwest it caused massive dust storms...

Hubby fueled up the generator , I plugged in the leads so at least the fridge was going, we had light

I was able to sew  and hubby watch tele....

I decided to work on my new WOOFA  project. " Oh my Stars" designed by Pat Sloan
and also sew a few more blocks     

           to add to this..

It's 11.30pm and still no power .... the winds not as strong and we've had some rain....not looking forward to tomorrow when a big clean up job awaits me ..

              Well I must away and get ready for bed.....

FNSI for May .....

Now all the trees on "The Block" have been trimmed it was time yesterday morning  to pull out some stumps .

then I got showered had lunch and afterwards I went in the Cave for a nice early start to FNSI with Wendy and cyber friends....





A few weeks ago I bravely cut into my bundle of  fat quarters  "Play All Day"  by American Jane

and got the side pieces sewn onto the main part and then spent HOURS with them on the design wall  shifting them each time I wasn't happy with where they were or the wrong way round ... I was really getting tired of looking at it......

Finally yesterday I thought I had it right and had sewn the first four rows together 

BUT !   Can you see the ONE block that has been sewn in wrong ????? GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!!

Sew I walked away organised dinner and afterwards came back and played with some left over 2 1/2" blocks from my Scrappy Flip Flop . I had been using them as a leader and ender project....
I've made another 9 blocks and found two different greens for sashing and its a lap size quilt....

I still have some more blocks in the box and could add another row ????
Maybe ?????








Then onto two blocks I have here to complete as our Patch group is making a comfort quilt for one of our ladies in town who lost her husband to Gillian Barre Syndrome a few weeks ago during Covid 19 which has made it much harder for her...

It will be a pretty when all the blocks are put together....

Must away as another day has slipped by again and it's time for dinner ...

FnwFs Again.

Last night Cheryll got us together again for an extra FnwFs sew I decided to work on MY  Quilt and finish the centre block...

Took several photos but none of them seam to have the right colours....






did a close up to show you the felt flowers and wee bees....

then I cut and sewed the next rows of Flying Geese....





all ready to sew together another time....




I had the next set of  Toni's  " Paper Dolls " waiting on the table sew of course I HAD to do them too.

When I looked at the time it was 12.45 am and time to go to bed..... Big thanks Cheryll for a fun night of sewing and I will enjoy visiting the others HERE over the next few days...

                                 Wishing all Mum's a Happy Mother's Day tomorrow ....

FnwFs for May 2020

What May already ! I thought time would go slow while in isolation but for me it hasn't as Iv'e been sewing and also hubby and I have been trimming lots of trees On the Block...

Sew as it's the first Friday of the month I joined Cheryll and 19 others for FnwFs  ...

first I worked on a racing car,

I may do some reverse sewing on the wheels as I'm not happy with them not being the same...

Also I put together 4 blocks I found in the cupboard left over from another quilt to make a
" Quilt of Love."...

Will finish it today and audition some fabrics for the next "Paper Dolls"  designed by Toni....

Toni's  designed some bonus blocks of Doctors and Nurses as well as a bridal Party..

Do pop over to join in the fun..

Must away now and have some lunch ...
