Will I ever finish "FROLIC" ???? I must say it's been the most frustrating flimsy I've worked on.....
I think with all the unpicking this top should have been finished twice but its still not done once...
Here are some of my silly mistakes....
and again..............
and today I discovered I've sewn the HST the wrong way.....The left one is right....
Sew before I throw the whole lot in the bin I've put it aside and made a "Microwave Cosy " for one of our bobbers BD on Monday...
At least I managed to finish this with NO unpicking.......
Must away now and fix the row of HST......
Happy stitching and stay safe...
Hugs Maria. ❤
so frustrating - but better to find it now than when the whole top is together.
ReplyDeleteFrustrating but oh so easy to sew the other side and not the side you meant to sew!
ReplyDeleteI am so with you on the 'unpicking' scene --and I have times when I wonder if I can continue on a project or not--like today--the center of a block was a pinwheel--I was so careful in the stitching and squaring up--but that center block--one section did not meet in the center correctly--I unstitched and adjusted it and restitched it and it looks the same--what????????????? I have left it--just that way!!!
ReplyDeleteI have the most problems sometimes with the counted crossing projects--my needle can't count the stitches right--need to sent it back to 'cross stitch school' I guess!!!!
have a great day--
luv, di
Oh Nooooo... it's so frustrating unpicking once let alone more than that... sometimes it's better to put a project away for awhile when mistakes happen... clear the head then pick it up again later... but it will be worth it in the end I'm sure.
ReplyDeleteEnjoy working on another project today instead... xox
Oooops …. very frustrating.... I feel for you! lovely projects and frolic will be lovely.... eventually!!!
ReplyDeleteHugz
Sometimes days are just that way, frustrating!! I have had several dates with the unpick lately. The microwave bowl looks amazing, I am sure Frolic will settle down and behave soon and be wonderful.
ReplyDeleteHang in there Maria.. Pack it away for a while. I have.. Flying geese have done it for me.. One day I'll get on with it...
ReplyDeleteHow frustrating!
ReplyDeleteThose HST borders were very hard to get right. I found Bonnie's instructions about how to sew and press them very confusing. I sewed a couple correctly, then put them up in front of me so that for all the rest I looked at the sample first, to check before I sewed.
Ooops! How annoying. You'll get there in the end, Maria. xx
ReplyDeleteI have been tempted to line my garbage bin with a few projects over the years. The pretty bowl cosy was an instant gratification project which is sometimes needed.
ReplyDeleteUnpicking, how frustrating. But you will be much happier when it's the way it should be. Sometimes you just need a rest from these frustrating projects, as you did, with making the bowl cozy.
ReplyDeletehow frustrating. But I know it will be lovely when you finish it up
ReplyDeleteNever fun "unsewing".....putting it in the naughty corner for a while will help xx
ReplyDeleteSorry about your Frolic frustration. Love the tiny bits of ORANGE in that Bowl Cozy! Way to work a project into the Rainbow Scrap Challenge.
ReplyDeleteSometimes it is just better to walk away from a project for a while. I had a day like that recently. Nothing went right. The bowl cozy is cute. I’m sure it will get much use.
ReplyDeleteWe all have days like that :) Quite often I end up turning off the machine much earlier than planned and I head off to bed.
