OPAM for February ...

Sew pleased it is leap year as it's given me an extra day which I needed to FINISH FROLIC.......Now I can post it as a finish for OPAM with the lovely Kris who pushes us long to get projects done each month.... Thank you !!!

There are also three smaller finishes to send to Cheryll who kindly delivers them to the children's hospital for the PICU and Neonatal Care.

Oh ! Nearly forgot about my "Koala" cushion and the microwave bowl cozy....










That  makes  6 finishes for this month ....

Nice to have my mojo back....

Must away now and find my No1 Challenge for Sunday Stitchers to work on......

WOOFA !

For this month's WOOFA challenge with Cheryll I put together the nine Sesame Street Blocks to make a small quilt to send over for the PICU which Cheryll kindly deliver for us...

Thanks Cheryll for organising us even when you are on your travels.. Now to organise the project for next month..

FNSI for Feb 2020

Oh it's RAINING, such a beautiful sound on our roof.... haven't had any wet stuff since last October. Lovely to hear our water tanks filling up as our water supply was getting low....
Such a great sound to listen to last night as I sewed along with Wendy for our FNSI....

I actually got the borders of FROLIC sewn together and on...

and Taa Dahhhhhhh !!!!!! 

                                                        it's a flimsy.     
Now to find a backing for it, then sandwich, pin and get it quilted....
I only did 9 blocks but it makes up a nice Lap size and I can't believe " I'm HAPPY with it "






As it was still early enough to do some more I sewed three more blocks for the " Flip Flop Scraps" project....
















Must away now and cut some more 2 1/2" squares..

A little Trip and FNSI

Last December we finally retired our dear old Viscount 77' model PopUp which we had for 0ver 37 years....

 




We had many family holidays  and several trips round Aussie ...

Made lots of happy memories

















Was a little sad to see her go but I was happy a young family now has her and they will also have lots of fun tripping around...


This is our updated Pop Top....










and I must say it is much easier to get around the bed as the old girl had the bed against the wall.....

We went for a test run along the coast for a few days this week and learnt how things worked ......











Lacy loved coming with us and enjoyed running free along the beach....

It's good to get home in time to sew along with Wendy and my virtual friends for FNSI as I seam to have lost my mojo and it may help get me enthused again......

Grrrrrrr !!!!!!!!!!!!

Will I ever finish "FROLIC" ????  I must say it's been the most frustrating flimsy I've worked on.....
I think with all the unpicking this top should have been finished twice but its still not done once...

Here are some of my silly mistakes....

and again..............





and today I discovered I've sewn the HST the wrong way.....The left one is right....

Sew before I throw the whole lot in the bin I've put it aside and made a "Microwave Cosy " for one of our bobbers BD on Monday...

 At least I managed to finish this with NO unpicking.......

Must away now and fix the row of HST......

FnwFs for February

I got an early start for FnwFs with Cheryll and the other ladies...

First I finished  putting together a new cushion cover. I found fabrics sew I could make this little guy in memory of ALL the wildlife that has been lost in the terrible bushfires ......

Then after dinner I made this little quilt which will go to a hospital for the Neonatal ward...

I still have 9 more blocks which I hope to ge together  during the week and of course " Frolic" is still waiting for me. I keep putting it aside to play with other projects !!!!!!


Thank you Cheryll for a fun sewing time and will see what others did over the weekend HERE....






Must away as I'm off into town to have a coffee with a friend.. :)

WOOFA for project February 2020.... and FnwFs sign up

I'm joining Cheryll again this month for WOOFA Challenge and as I have completed my No 3 challenge for Sunday Stitchers and a new No won't be drawn for two weeks I decided to go through my cupboard and find something else to work on...

I didn't have another UFO I wanted to work on sew decided I needed to do something with the Layered Cakes  that have been lurking in my cupboard for over 7 years, also smaller pieces of backing and wadding need to be used......

Hope that's okay Cheryll . They are UNFINISHED  bits ????

They will make a few nice smaller quilts !!!!

Must away now and see how to use them....

Oh!! nearly forgot ... As it's the first Friday of the month it's  also time to pop over to Cheryll to sign up for FnwFs... Do join in as it's always fun to see what others have done...
