FnwFs cont......

As I showed you in my previous post I was spending FnwFs at my DD home in the Big Smoke...
We come across the a very old UFO on a shelf in her craft room I had given her a few years ago to finish.. Hmm! that hadn't happen sew we decided to work on it together...

DD  sewing

while I did the ironing

and putting the blocks on the display board.

thought I'd like it a bit better once we made some blocks but sadly I don't. Still needs many more blocks before it's big enough....
Of course DD has now given me the box back. Wonder if this Kaleidoscope UFO will ever be finished....

Thank you Cheryll for another fun filled Friday evening stitching. Now I 'm home will visit the other ladies to HERE see what they stitched..

It's raining now (Hooray! ) sew I'll go to the Cave and sew....

Happy Stitching.

  1. I can imagine that cutting the pieces is a slow process. Seeing the new patterns created this way is fun and I hope you have more fabric to finish the quilt some day.

  3. If you are not happy with it put alternating plain coloured Hexies in or look at Pinterest. Add triangles to make them the centres of stars.. http://pin.it/LCN93Pp

  7. Well this is one well-travelled & much-neglected UFO, Maria!
Of course you'll finish it, now that progress has been made... it's not a very Maria-ish look though, I have to think x

  9. LOL. That is such an interesting technique. I've not done that before, but I like how it is coming together.

  11. The fabrics are pretty! If you don't like it, just make it big enough for a baby quilt? And give it away? I'm sure you'll think of something wonderful.

  14. Well I think it is very pretty and I agree it will be stunning when you finish it! (Notice I said when, not if :) ) Some advice from me: Move that dark red flower away from a full size blue and put it by some smaller blues. Right now it is overwhelming that pretty block right below it.

  19. I have a half a finished Quilt like this as well. I did a workshop many years ago and didn't do any more after that day. I should pull it out one day and see if I can salvage it or ditch it. I like Jo's suggestion if maybe adding some plain Hexies. It is definitely worth trying to finish.

  20. Maria, it's gorgeous but if you don't like it why not just finish it into a runner. At least that way it will be completed and if you still aren't happy with it, pop it into your gifting box, I can guarantee someone will love it to bits x
