Last night I worked on two small projects.
the first was my BOM from Lynette Anderson. It seemed like a long time since I just sat and stitched.
Then I sewed the 3” Ohio Stars to go on top BUT they are too big. My turned out 31/2” so now I have to make another set. Grrrrrr!!
After making the Cotton Reel Wall Hanging a few weeks ago I decided to make mini a version. It is only 11” X 14”.
I love the border fabric.
Now I am off to post on Flickr and see what my other Aussie mates have been up to.
great projects Maria, they are both very pretty
ReplyDeleteI agree! Good job.
ReplyDeleteCarolyn :)
You had a good night of sewing Maria. I was going to sign up for FNSI as we were actually home but then I sat and looked at blogs and did the washing! Next time!
ReplyDeleteO Maria, I love your mini Cotton Reel Wall Hanging! That would certainly be lovely to have two of them to turn into pillows.Everybody would know that a fiber artist lives at your house - or - even smaller for potholders for the kitchen.WELLLLLLL - you are so talented -why not spread it around your house???? : )
ReplyDeleteOf course the other piece is lovely too! Thank you so much for sharing-you are so gifted. : )
awesome work! I think we should do a friday MORNING sew in, LOL I am so (sew) useless in the evenings. I guess I could do the FNSI in the morning since it would be evening where you are, right?
ReplyDeleteGreat projects; I love the border fabric, too.
ReplyDeleteLove your projects!! So cute, both of them. :)
ReplyDeletegorgeous blocks. Shame you will have to redo the ohio stars. At least you can use them for another project.
ReplyDeleteLove the cotton reels.
You are keeping busy Maria....your BOM looks wonderful...
ReplyDeleteCute blocks especially the cotton reels:O)
ReplyDeleteThe BOM is very cute! Love your cotton reel blocks too. Shame about the other blocks being too big...but you've got 2 squares already for a project which uses 3 1/2 blocks! lol
ReplyDeleteGreat work. Two wonderful projects.
ReplyDeleteLOVE the stitchery xxx
ReplyDelete*ummm just wondering* can we still be blogging friends if I admit to backing the Irish tonight?
I am after all of Irish descent . . .
Sweet stitchery - those stars are perfect colours.
ReplyDeleteLovely cotton reels - everybody needs these.

Cute applique block and a bummer about your star blocks. The cotton reel wall hanging is fabulous! I love the border fabric and how you changed direction of the thread. Love it!
ReplyDeleteLovely stitching... those stars will be lovely on another project? I didn't know about the Flickr..... what's the deal for that? is that also FNSI?

Those lovely blocks are destined for greatness! Perhaps a little zipper bag? I LOVE that spools wall hanging, and the BOM gingerbread persons are wonderful. Well done, you!
ReplyDeleteYour gingerbread block is very sweet. And I love your mini spool quilt - the border fabric is just right!
ReplyDeleteYour gingerbread men block is really cute. And that fabric you used for the borders of your cotton reel wall hanging is great. Sounds like a productive FNSI to me.
ReplyDeleteLots done! Love the gingerbread men on the first block!
ReplyDeleteJust become your latest follower Maria.. so enjoyed browsing about your holiday in your almost 'vintage' van!! One day hope to do that trip too..
ReplyDeleteHope you are having a great weekend..
You have some lovely work , the little spool wall hanging is just adorable and your little stitchery is sweet too!
ReplyDeleteI love your block for the Christmas quilt, it is beautiful. And your cotton reel wall hanging is gorgeous, are the reels made up of strips of fabric? It is so effective!
ReplyDeleteGreat work!
ReplyDeleteManuela
Looks great!
ReplyDeleteNice work! Especially love your wall hanging!
ReplyDeleteThe mini spools hanging is lovely. Frustrating when blocks don't fit, isn't it. I had to do some unsewing on Friday night too. I think I was just tired after a long week. Love the colours/fabrics you are using in the BOM by the way.
ReplyDeleteYou had a very productive night. Cute projects.
ReplyDeleteFNSI looks very BUSY.....great work.
