FNSI and into SMSI

Last night I sat down to do some small simple projects (so I thought LOL) for FNSI.
Stitched a small stitchery onto some Christmas fabric to make my Santa sack for a swap. Then stitch fabric together. Next put in two button holes for the cord. Simple??? LOL. When I turned the hem I had

YEP!! put them on the wrong side. Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!!!

Okay will just do them again on the outside. When I was done turned the bag to put in cord and  Noooooooooooo!!!
Buttonholes were on the other side of the  stitchery . Did not take a photo. Too mad. Unpicked the stitchery, re stitched on the BUTTONHOLE side, popped in cord and Taa Dahhh.

Must say I am happy with my little sack NOW!! Hope my partner will be.

I continued stitching into early SMSI and also finished this.

  3. Sounds like you had a good night (morning) in the end. Lovely Sack.
I played on FNSI but I didn't make it to SMSI, I got up to a fiddly bit and just knew I didn't have the patience to get it right.
    Well done on your finishes.

  14. I really like the bag - great job! I had lots of fun during FNSI, too. http://www.rocknquilts.blogspot.com For FNSI, I worked on getting closer to completion on my daughter's graduation quilt using Eleanor Burns' Quilt As You Go technique.

  16. I love that little bag! Also, I am a big fan of the stitchery, and TILDA. My FNSI project was a tote bag that I managed to cut out completely wrong, but I managed to make it anyway. Cheers!

  17. I know it HAS to be my fault- that Mistake part of me had to rub off on you! I am sorry! But , you overcame it and it is perfect. Even more perfect after the battle. :)

I remember while a senior in high school we had an art contest and our paintings were placed in the public library. There was some kind of "artist award" and then there was a "judged best by the public". I won that public award on my painting of horses and I was so thrilled because I was honored that the general public liked mine best.

From the looks of the comments - I think you would win that award too! :) Looks like you have a winner there , but you always do ! :)

  18. I saw your little Christmas Tree Embroidery on the flickr site, so cute. Don't worry we all do those silly things like you did last night. At least you could fix it. Cute bag too.

  23. Maria, I just found your blog and I'm in the Santa swap too. I love this sack and have been trying to find something adorable to do for my own partner. Can I ask where you got your pattern from? Whoever your partner is will love this. I know I'm not in the running since I'm over in Canada. :)
