Long post and lots of photos.
Yesterday afternoon a group of 85 ladies and 2 men were lucky enough to be entertained in our small town by the singing quilter Cathy Miller and her husband John. Cathy is a very talented singer/song writer as well as quilter and teacher.
Everyone ready and anxiously waiting for the start and some not knowing what to expect as not all were quilters.
What a wonderful afternoon it was
as Cathy and John sang their delightful songs, mostly about quilting. Cathy showed us her gorgeous quilts and told the story about each song. Some were funny and some a little sad.
Cathy’s Quilts.
Reverse Quilts.
Aussie Fabrics
Over 3000 1/2 inch Hexagons Cathy stitched together on her travels around the world. Just Amazing.
As I sat and listened and looked around the room I could not help but feel a little sad. Sue, who had organised it all had had a turn in the morning and could not be there.
Pleased you are home Sue and feeling better.
The ladies busy in the kitchen BECAUSE we could not have any sort of quilters show without the delicious food.
Afternoon tea for everyone.
and for some it was just too much!!!
P.S. This morning Cathy and John joined the swimming ladies at the beach for a dip and brekky by the sea.
What a gorgeous couple. Hope they come again soon.
Thanks heaps Sue for bringing them here.

Fun Filled Days Part 2
DD2 and I went shopping and out for a lovely lunch on Friday. Then after picking the children up from school we went to surprise my LS for her birthday.
We were a little late as we got side tracked but finally found the venue where we needed to be.
It was so nice to see BOTH my sister’s and give my LS her quilt on her special day.
Now I can show you the secret quilt I have been working on for ages!!!! The house I stitched on the quilt resembles the home we all grow up in.
Saturday we went to the beach. It was just a beautiful sunny day, perfect for a swim.
Afterwards it was off to buy some shoes. We could hear giggling from the kids and discovered them trying on shoes.
It keep them amused while we browsed. LOL
Sunday evening DD2 and I went out for dinner and then to see Billy Connelly. We laughed so much our cheeks were sore.
In the evenings we stitched and I finished my Easter Swaps.
DD2 made the cute Hat and Basket.
and also my pincushion for that swap.
So you can see I DID have a fun filled few days away.

Fun Filled Days Away. part 1.
Have just returned home after having 5 busy fun filled days with my DD2 and two youngest GC.
Arrived Thursday afternoon in time to go to the kids school and watch them go out to fly their kites for Harmony Day.
There was just enough wind in a lovely blue cloudy sky.
Hang on
All the children wore clothes to represent different countries and cultures. My GC wore the Dutch Flag.
Later we went to see “The Sculptures by the Sea”.
and after lots of walking it was time to have our upside down tea.
Ice cream first.
Mmmmmmmmmmm!!!!! very nice. We wanted to see who had the longest tongue. LOL
Then we sat and watched the sunset while eating our picnic tea.

Learning to Quilt???
Today was spent in the company of my Patch friends learning to free motion quilt.
Our lovely teacher was Pauline who travels all over Aussie with her DH.
It was amazing how quickly Pauline taught us to quilt in a straight line with our feed dogs down. Well pretty straight.
Then onto mazes, squares, triangles, waves and sort of circles. My ended up looking more like an apple and peach so I gave them a stem.
It was a long day as I left home at 8.30am and arrived home at 6pm. I had lots of fun and learnt a lot.
When I got home my DH had prepared dinner so that was lovely.
So nice to sit, relax and enjoy my meal.
