and this wasn't the only one I sewed the wrong way , GRRRRRR! I think I did it at least three times..
Then as I grabbed up a block to sew I accidentally picked up two......
More unpicking......
I was doing the Frivol churn dashes as a leader and ender project as well but they also didn't want to play...
So I am really surprised that I did manage to get my 8 blocks done for this month
and also some more Frivol churns......
Keep well and enjoy some stitching.
Hugs Maria ❤
How annoying but your blocks look great now Maria. xx
ReplyDeleteHow frustrating. So glad you got them under control.
ReplyDeleteOh dear. I can relate to that, as I did plenty of unsewing as well. My trick was to put right side to wrong side of fabric…..three times, as well as triangles around the wrong way. I’m sure it will start to go smoother now you have made a few blocks. They turned out well.
ReplyDeleteWell done with keeping on.my last message disappeared
ReplyDeleteYour blocks look great now after the hardships. I often sew two little corner squares on instead of just one in each corner, and sew fabrics together with one reverse side showing.
ReplyDeleteI know about that unpicking and picking up the wrong pieces--!!! In face I just finished a quilt top yesterday--then today as I looked at --I thought that the side borders would look better at the top and bottom and the top and bottom borders would look better at the sides--but so far the seam ripper hasn't come out--there is alot on housework on the 'to do' list for this afternoon instead!!!
ReplyDeleteHave seen all the churn dash blocks everyone is doing for Chooky's challenges--and I just might have to join in yet!!!
all you blocks came out really nice and now I wonder what the new project is going to be????? Hugs, di
Good thing you perservered as the blocks look great. I love the fabric selections in both sets of churn dash blocks.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't take much for a block to go rogue does it, pieces up the wrong way and back to front while you stitch merrily away. I'm pleased you finally showed them who is boss of the sewing room.
ReplyDeleteI understand your frustation being in the same boat with the unpicker. Glad you are on top of them now.
ReplyDeleteOh dear. Your blocks look great. Hugs,
ReplyDeletehmmmmmmm..... churn dash is a lovely block but it does lend itself to errors and I think you got a fair share of them! They look great and I love the little ones too.... your new project is intriguing....
ReplyDeleteHugz
Lots of beautiful blocks Maria, I had the same issue with the last churn dash blocks I sewed, they kept getting themselves the wrong way around, nothing to do with my picking them up lol!! Love the bird quilt on your link, has that made it back out of the cupboard?
ReplyDeleteOh, boy those churn dashes really didn't want to behave, did they?
ReplyDeleteStarting a different project is a good idea, and I think I know what that one is. Have fun in the Greenhouse!
Oh dear - almost time to give up but I'm glad you are soldiering on.
ReplyDeleteGoing to be a push to get mooned done.
Well done for keeping going x My solution would be to ...Put it down and have a cuppa x
ReplyDeletePerseverance paid off....very niceblocks!
ReplyDeleteOh dear Maria.... I feel your pain.... it is great to see they went well in the end....
ReplyDeleteGood to get those churns made despite the setbacks. xx
ReplyDeletewell done on your progress, despite all the set backs, do love those frivol blocks, so cute!
