Before I could start on any fun sewing last night I needed to make a new cover for my dryer which lives outside. When we had the dust storm the other week the old cover was destroyed.....
I set up the overlocker and was happily sewing away when the thread broke, GRRRRR !!!!
Had to be the No 4 which is a doozie to thread.......
Took about an hour of "CALM" words before it was all ready to go again....
Finally finished the cover and had a cuppa and then onto to getting out my fun sewing ... It's going to be a quilt for me and I started HERE then worked on some more HERE sew I've decided it will be a great WOOFA project that is another great SAL Cheryll organises.....
First I needed to re- stitch a few flying geese to fit the centre block....
Then I stitched the circles on the corner blocks before deciding on the next small border....
I chose to cut the four different strips ..
Managed to join one before going to bed.... Happy with my progress....
Must away and have some late lunch.
Happy stitching and stay safe.
Hugs Maria ❤
your quilt is going to be lovely...working from a pattern, or your head?
ReplyDeleteLove your quilt. Very pretty. Hugs, xx
ReplyDeleteThat's looking like an interesting project
ReplyDeleteI love the bright colors. And I love how you put those corner blocks in....they actually draw the eye to your flying geese!
ReplyDeleteSorry your thread broke--that is one thing I think we all hate--esp when it takes so long to get it right again so you could continue--

Your overlocker gave you a bit of grief didn't it!! Good you had the calm time 😁😁
ReplyDeleteI love your quilt, very colourful, love the owls.
Love your border of flying geese and the circle corner blocks, looks fantastic. Those overlockers are not fun when you need to rethread are they?
ReplyDeleteI LoVe it... it's so bright & cheerful.
ReplyDeleteSuch a nuisance when thread breaks on an overlocker, but ending with new cover is worth all the trouble I'm sure.
Thanks for joining in FnWf again too.
The new header is really nice too...xox
So pleased to hear you kept your words calm
ReplyDeleteLooks like another nice quilt in the making and nice to make one for yourself

ReplyDeleteYour owls and flowers are so pretty. YOu chose great borders for it!
ReplyDeleteDon't you love that No 4 thread? It's always the one that causes the most trouble. Your owl quilt is looking so terrific - great border fabric.
ReplyDeleteI have the same problem. I also spend more time on threading no 4 than I care to remember. Out with the DVD, you-tube and written notes every time. Your fun sewing looks great.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cute quilt! I know nothing about overlockers, so I'll take your word for it. Just keep on stitching. We've accomplished a lot during quarantine, but I'm sure ready for the next step.....
