FNSI for August.

After going to my exercise group yesterday I popped down to our club room to pin the Scrappy Sheep ready to quilt for FNSI  with Wendy and friends..

I was lucky to arrive just as Allison and Helen were there dropping off things from the Expo sew they kindly helped me get it sandwiched and pinned.

Love the background I found for the sheep.....

All set for an evening of quilting but someone else decided it would be a good place to hide from the thunderstorm

Finally with Lacy put into her bed I was happily quilting along when NO POWER...... this often happens here when there's thunder and rain .. I waited for awhile playing on my IPad and when the power didn't come back on I went to bed....  😢

This morning the powers on and its still raining sew good day to try and finish the quilt....But this happened.

I started looking for something I wanted to pack to take to retreat on Thursday. Of course every box I looked in the project wasn't in there....

After an hour or more I finally found what I wanted and it's now packed ...

My projects packed in the tub ready to take and I have a tidy Cave.....

Before getting distracted again I thought I'd make coffee and do my post...
Thank you Wendy for having us join in for our FNSI even after your internet troubles...

Must away and get back to quilting....
Happy Stitching,
Hugs  Maria 😊

  5. The best laid plans.... Great that you had help with basting though, can be a boring job on your own. Enjoy retreat. xx

  7. Way to persevere and find that project. Sorry you weren't able to get more done on the quilting but it apparently wasn't meant to be. Cutie pie pup!

  12. Always good to have help to pin a quilt
    The background fabric is perfect
How come we can never find the project we are looking for? It has to be there because that is where you always put them lol Nice to have a tidy cave
    Enjoy the retreat xx

  13. You have a large and very nice place to do your stitching. Getting a quilt basted is a big job and the more hands, the better. Hope you enjoy your retreat! Happy Stitching.

  14. You are very organised! I have so much anxiety around sandwiching quilts - they never seem to be tight enough and this causes all sorts of problems when it comes to quilting. What's your trick? it looks so smooth and flat!

  15. Have a good time at the retreat. I had to laugh thinking of you searching for an hour, something we all can relate to I'm sure. What's particularly frustrating when you know it's there. Everytime I clean my office I think it will help, but then I can't remember where I moved things too.

  17. It sounds like a frustrating evening. I waste too much time looking for one thing or another. I’m sure you’ll have a great retreat.

  19. I hope you had a great retreat Maria - it looks like you had enough packed to keep you busy! Fun looking sheep quilt. How frustrating with all your Friday Night dramas, hope you don't get many more evenings like that! Glad to hear you got some much needed rain too - bet it's greened things up beautifully.
