OPAM for April

A busy month so I'm pleased to link up with the lovely KRIS who's keeping us on track with OPAM each month and post my finishes.....

I attended a two day workshop this month to make a cute  6"  Bear ..... I was surprised that on the first day we only got his head made.













 Homework Sat night was to stitch the arms , legs , body and ears together sew on Sunday we worked on finishing our bear...

I nicknamed him  " Scruffy " but after spending time making him a waistcoat and bandana I've called him


 "  Edmund "

My finish for " Sunday Stitchers" Challenge No 3   " Flying Colours "  designed by Sue Belleli.

I picked up my quilt  " Simplify " from the longarm quilters this week and I'm happy with the little Elephants and Flowers quilted all over...

and as usual I've been busy sewing Sheilds  for " Days for Girls "

Must away and put on the kettle for a cuppa....

Lest We Forget....

                       Over fifty years ago Hubby served in Vietnam as a Dog Handler

 and tomorrow being ANZAC Day he is proud to go to the Dawn Service and later March in memory of all who served , especially his mates ...

BlooMeR'S Party...

We enjoyed  a busy few days with our lovely visitors , chatting , going to the beach , organising the Easter hunt.....










Parents hid plastic eggs  ( sew Lacy wouldn't find chocolate ones and eat them.)  over the 5 acre block...

Abbi had her hands full ....  !!!







This morning the campers packed up and were off home to Perth , 

I was able to wind down and do a  little sewing to make two BlooM Blocks....


Must away now and tidy the Cave and organise dinner..........

Happy Easter

Wishing everyone  Happy and Safe Easter ....    Today I enjoyed an early start with Wendy for FNSI and put together a new Easter Mini to pop in my frame

after finishing the stitchery  " Bunny Garden "  designed by Lynette Anderson.....

This evening I hope to sew  a few  BlooMs for the BlooMerS PaRtY  before our visitors arrive tomorrow..... Thanks Wendy for a relaxing day/evening of sewing.

We'll have 8 more folk and with just one bathroom in our home we've hired an extra loo......

This one's a little flasher than the ones you see at building sites..

Well must away and organise dinner before getting back in the Cave....

Nearly 10 Years...

As I started this post I realised it's my 1000th post... My first post was
in July 2009 and over the years I have enjoyed reading others blogs and making many friends and have even been pleased to have meet some in person...

When hubby and I tripped around Aussie met the fabulous Fiona from BubzRugz
and the lovely Kris from Tag Along Teddies

and all the delightful ladies in Brisbane from Sunday Stitchers..

In 2016 DD Sandra and I went to Melbourne for the craft show and met two lovely bloggers Christine from Mac Donald's Patch and Helen
from Helen's Patchwork Passion..






I have participated in many fun swaps , SALs and joined in OPAM  and enjoy sewing along on Friday evenings for FnwFs and FNSI  ........

Sadly many don't blog anymore and I miss reading their posts but I hope to keep posting for another 1000 ......


Must away and organise a project for FNSI with Wendy on Friday.......

BlooMerS Party

Before another day disappears I must post what I worked on for the BlooMers Party organised by Cheryll Saturday evening....

I was very happy to get the first three rows sewn together...Now to get the next BlooMs ready to applique... Thanks Cheryll for hosting the Party...

FnwFs ...

On Friday it was the first Friday of the month sew I joined Cheryll and 18 other ladies for FnwFs ...

It had been some time since I had sewn any "Shields" for "Days for Girls" sew decided to get some made....
