Ladies Morning Tea.

Robyn invited us to Morning Tea at the Farm……..




We were to bring along our finest tea cup and plate, dress in our very best complete with hat and gloves….. for me that meant a visit to the oppie ….






was pleased with my $4 dress and my friend had the perfect matching hat and gloves…..

Robyn set a lovely table with delicious tiny sandwiches, sausage rolls and sweets .




Which we enjoyed while sitting on the porch sipping our tea and chatting….





afterwards we gathered in the garden to have our photo taken. I think we all scrubbed up very well and even “Jack” sat perfectly….





Thank you sew much Robyn and Paul… It was a very delightful way to spend a morning….

Spring Post Card Swap.

Every few months Sheila organises a Post Card Swap.. I really enjoy participating .
for the “Spring Swap” my partner was Selina and I received these lovely “Tulips” from her. Love them..thanks Selina…






and I sent Selina some “Sunflowers”






Thanks for organising the swap Sheila and I am looking forward to the next one…


Using my laptop for this post as my desktop is at the doctors.. Do hope they can fix it as it holds lots of photos  and addresses of my friends….Really would be sad if I lost them….

Irene and cupcakes for FNSI…..

Before joining others for FNSI this week I organised the cave…





You can see the corner of  "Goodnight Irene" .. 

I have added the seventh row but I think I will make it wider?


then I got organised making 30 calorie and gluten free cupcakes….

I did manage to do a few . Maybe I will join others tonight for the Northern Hemisphere FNSI and get the filmsy put together..

A Quick Post

DH and Lacy have gone for a ride to the beach so before I go for my morning dip thought I’d do a quick post.

The Jelly Roll Quilt

Last week I attended a Jelly Roll workshop with our Patch group. Tutor Kerry Moore come from Perth to teach us..

I worked on my flimsy all week and on Wednesday went to Patch to sandwich it. Then I quilted ,quilted and quilted… and this afternoon I completed the binding and finished my version of





my looks very different and at first I wasn’t sure if I had picked the right Jelly roll to make it BUT I am very happy with the pretty quilt….

Tried to take a photo in my favourite spot but the wind was just too strong.




and my assistant keep getting in the way…





finally I gave up and hung it under the verandah….





Nice to have it completed…

Great Plans

   are meant to be broken.... Isn't that what they say?? WELL I had great plans to sit and quilt today. I popped a load of washing in the machine and went into the cave....

I could hear a funny noise when the washing machine was emptying. Went to investigate and there was water EVERYWHERE...... the trough was blocked.... Cleaned it all up and then discovered the water had seeped into the corner of the dining room. OH NO! The power box with all the computer stuff on was floating in water......lucky DH was home and helped to quickly disconnected everything..

Now I only have wait for the floor to dry and then work out where all the leads go again.

What I worked on for FnwFs

First I added row 6 to "Goodnight Irene" which I am sewing along with Terry and other online folk….






Appliqued and sewed “Bellona” the March BOM Owl…







Then I packed my stuff for our Jelly Roll Workshop over the weekend….





Wasn't sure which Jelly Roll to use but I don’t think I chose wisely..  More in my next post.

Four Day Retreat and FnwFs….

Arrived in Perth  last Thursday and spent a few hours with my little sis and then on to my retreat…



On Friday it was a pleasure to met up with two of my blogger friends Anthea and Julia..



First we went to Rockingham Quilt Show. There were some beautiful quilt to see. Then on to the Dome to chat over coffee and lunch… Sew nice to catch up with the girls.. Hope to see them again soon.




Saturday Night at Retreat it was Fancy Dress. We had to wear something from any “Elvis” Movie.. It’s always a good laugh…




Just a few of us.. There were lots of great get ups.. May get a photo to post later...


I did manage some sewing too …

Put together some HST for a Tiny Quilt… only 14"..





Six more Scrappy Round the World blocks





and made a good start on this quilt….






I came home to some beautiful mail….

Two great Blocks from Coral for the Aussie Block Swap






the last Chateau Hexagon BOM stitchery and two Jelly Rolls..

Now I need to choose which one to use for our Jelly Roll Work Shop on the weekend….
