Oh My Goodness!

I was almost too late to post my finishes for OPAM this month run by Peg and  Kris.  Thanks ladies, you do keep me on track.  
 
Have worked on my “Catnip” quilt for ages and I am delighted it is now complete.

I have entered a Row by Row quilt that was a secret swap run by our Patchwork group.  I requested “Birdhouses” as my theme…

Bit of Stitching

This morning after dropping the Grandies at the bus and clearing up decided to go into DD2’s craft room and raid her stash to do some stitching on the new machine.

 Jan-Maree from Aussie Hero Quilts gives us a different block each month to make and send to her. Which she then passes on to other lovely folk to  make into quilts for our servicemen and women serving overseas..
This months block was made up  of two 9” blocks. Sewn twice through the centre and cut in half to make two 8 1/2”blocks..   EASY!!!!



WHY then did I not ONCE ( had it folded under)



but TWICE muck up this block??????? Stitched wrong sides together.



Third time lucky!!!!! 




and I am happy with the blocks I made from the stash…. May have to tuck some of DD2’s fabrics in my bag to take home….LOL

FNSI with Daisy……

As I am at DD2s looking after the kids I  spent FNSI with Daisy…

DD2 and her DH were to have gone in the afternoon but they arrived at the airport 4 minutes late to check in their bags. So they returned home to wait for the RED EYE…
Sew she was able to help me put together GD1’s dress……


We had a production line going.  One on the overlocker and the other on the machine……

The furry assistants were also hanging around….

After they left to catch the plane I did a little more of this before going to bed..

Visit from the girls and OFW

This morning our DD1, GD1 and  our GGD1 come to visit… Alexis made herself comfortable on the lounge



and later helped Poppa water the new trees….



while we chatted and did some measurements for GD1’s dress.    I always enjoy seeing my girls…….

 A bit late but it is still Wednesday sew here is my flower for this week….. Do pop over to Karen's to see other flowers..



The flower is sitting in a pretty Grevillea Bush that’s one of the natives growing on the block. At this time of year there are many colourful natives…
 

After a week off the builder has finished three more houses…



Only three more and then I can put my village together…

I have been busy putting these together

and these for Aussie Hero's serving overseas.

Have also been getting my swaps made and sent on there way.. Was surprised how many I am actually signed up for.. LOL…

I am so happy it is FNSI this week, Sept 21st, sew I can work on some of the swaps…

What a perfect

warm sunny day for our High Tea on the verandah at the Monastery,



everyone is buzzing around hanging bunting and placing all the fancy cups and saucers on the table….





Setting other tables ready for the visitors to arrive….

Over the past

few days I have been busy sewing this, only a sneak peek for now…..



helping get our Patch Room ready for High Tea tomorrow,



baking Hubby’s favourite cake …



picking some pretty flowers to have inside.
