Getting There…..
I thought I would only need to put one undercoat on these ugly green walls (which I loved over 10 years ago) BUT I was wrong………
This morning I decided to have some me time and meet my Saturday Morning coffee ladies here……..
then after lunch as it was such a lovely day went for a walk along here ……..
then when I returned I put on the painting clothes and keep painting until the second undercoat was done…
Ready to put the final coat on after brekky with my swimming ladies tomorrow.
It’s nice to still catch up on Sundays at the cafe in the winter…
received some very nice parcels in the mail on Friday so will sit down and read the new pattern book after my shower. Maybe just fondle the new fabrics and think about what I could use them for………

Oh No It’s Wednesday Again…..
Sew it time to join the Karen and the ladies for One Flower Wednesday… Maybe you would like to join in too??
The builder has managed to construct three houses again this week. My favourite is the cupcake and chocolate one…..
and I have been busy doing this…
while the stove was pulled away from the wall I also cleaned the oven.
I will be keep busy this week painting but I do hope to get a little stitching in too.

FNSI and a Great Giveaway…
I decided before I could do any sewing for FNSI I had to clean out at least ONE box of my fabrics…
That’s better….
First I made the 6th Block for The Beginner’s Quilt-A-Long..
Then completed this Miniature Spool Wall hanging.
It was for a gift but I don't know if I can part with it. I love doing the easy binding by wrapping the backing fabric to the front on small projects.
Also put together some Granny Squares and made them into a table runner. May join the ladies in the Northern Hemisphere tonight for FNSI to complete it.
Abbe at Cooper Patch is having a great Giveaway to celebrate the open of her Retreat today. Do pop over and have a look. You could win a free weekend away or a $100 fabric voucher...

Projects I did on Retreat and a Special Birthday
By Saturday evening I had put together my Jelly Roll top
built a few houses and pinned a quilt ready to Stipple.
Sunday I got my first border with flange on
Pieced another Kid’s Charity Top. ( very easy)
and managed to FMQ a third of my other Jelly Roll Quilt in the evening.
While travelling I also stitched some flowers.
Linda dropped me off at home Monday afternoon .
A big thank you to my lovely driver/room mate and all the ladies for a relaxing fun weekend.
After a good nights sleep DH and I were off Tuesday morning to Perth for my DD2’s Surprise 40th Dinner.
We did have a lot of laughs collecting her special cake with DD1
and DD2 was very surprised to see us all on her special birthday..
Happy Birthday Sandra.
Early in the morning it was back home again……… so you can see why I have done so many Kms …….

Home again Part one.
after travelling 1700 kms over the past few days. ( to the retreat and then to DD2's surprise 40th.) I am pleased to be home. Even though an unwanted bug has come along as well.
My friend Linda and I left last Friday to go to our annual Patch retreat at Toodyay. On the way we stopped in Midland to have lunch with my DDs and do some shopping.
Arrived at about 3 o’clock to see many of the ladies already busy setting up their machines. We unloaded the car and got started too.
after dinner some of us watched Tele and did a bit of knitting. Lovely and cosy sitting by the fire.
Woke to a very foggy cold morning but it was warm inside. After a nice breakfast it was back to the sewing room.
I was working on a Bright Jelly Roll Top.
and Mary is busy hand sewing.
later Linda and I went for a drive around town
we found some fun things to see and places to go before our return.
Saturday night dinner theme was “Flowers” and we had a surprise for two of our girls who had birthdays.
Marie (behind the balloons) had a normal birthday but it was Linda’s 50th.
After dinner we played a Trading Game . There was lots of laughter coming from each table…
Will post part two tomorrow……
