Home Again ( long post ,many photos )

From retreat. I went to Perth last Friday and spent a lovely few days with my DD and family. We went to visit my GD and partner in their unit for morning tea and I gifted her the sewing basket, bowl cosies and pot holders. Then on Sunday it was off to retreat.

After I unpacked the car, got settled in my room and after saying Hi to all it was time to set up and sew.

First I got out all those packages I’d cut out months ago and started sewing. I thought this would be a great project to work on .. BUT NO. It’s called the “Wanderer’s Wife” and not an easy pattern to follow it did my head in but I made a few blocks.

Then onto “Lollipop and Sunshine” BOM by Anni Down published in Homespun .

Did some hand sewing on my La Passacaglia as well in the evening.

Also managed to sew a few rows on hubby’s simple lounge quilt.

And  here’s some show and tell from the ladies.

Donna made a casserole snug,

Helen was working on a Baby Floor Rug,
Just needs the binding sewn down.

Three different scrap  projects worked on by Loris left, Jan below and Vicki bottom.

Jodie quilted a donation quilt she’d made earlier and also quilted these cute chickens.

Ros sewed down the binding on her Tumbling Blocks quilt and put together a modern quilt for her GD which was out of her comfort zone .

Jo spent her time dotting making a picture of their cat as a gift for her Dad.

Ok must away and publish the post and get organised to join in for FNSI

Happy Stitching ,

Hugs. Maria 💖

  1. You were very productive. Yes, it is hard to make difficult projects while on retreat. The appliqué and hubby’s quilt would have been much easier. I love seeing everyone’s show and tell.

  2. Sounds like you had a lovely time visiting family and going to retreat. We got home Tuesday last week, just in time for me to unpack the caravan, wash the clothes and then repack for NOTYQ retreat! Now catching up with everything. See you tonight at FNSI! xx

  7. Lollipop and sunshine looks great. Are they Tilda fabrics?
Wanderer's wife looks complicated... but you can do it :-) I'm sure.
And your husband's quilt will be great.
The baby floor rug is super.
Oh yes, all the beautiful fabric and these wonderful projects.
    Thanks for showing.
    A hug for you.

  10. Seems like I have a photo saved of the Gypsy Wife quilt, which I think is now Wanderer's Wife - isn't it a Jen Kingwell pattern? Anyway your blocks look great!

  11. So much eye candy and motivation! Those first blocks do look a bit complicated but it looks like you mastered it! All of those quilts are awesome! Lots of talent! I love the cat one but have no idea how you do that.
