March RSC and Aussie Hero Blocks...

It's been a terrible week so I don't listen to the news as it just makes me sad instead I hide away in the Cave and sew.....

First I went through my scrap box to find some yellows/golds which is the colour for this months RSC with Angela....

I'm doing "Delectable Mountain"and"Half Log Cabin" for my blocks this year....
The Mystery Block for this month is called " Autumn Star" for "Aussie Hero's"

It has Navy Blue ,Orange, light Grey and  White ... I like this block and look forward to it being made into a quilt.

I have a question for you ????
When does a WIP ( work in progress) become a UFO ???????

Thinking of all who are doing it stuff,
keep safe and well

Hugs  Maria ❤

  1. I think it changes from a WIP to a UFO when you take the project off your sewing machine or table and put it away in a bag somewhere! That's my experience anyway. You are right, the news is terrible, and what is so upsetting is that the Russians are using Trump's saying "fake news" as they are bombing civilians and hospitals.

  6. lovely cheerful yellows and I love the autumn stars..... not sure of the difference of WIP and UFO... I always thought of it as pretty interchangeable..... I tend to only have UFO myself... though I kindof think it would be a WIP if you are actually working on it... Good question.

  7. Those delectable mountains remind me of the Rising Sun emblem on the Australian Army slouch hat. Nice work on both those and half log cabin blocks.

  8. I agree that it's not good to listen to the news, pity they didn't find some good news stories to add in amongst the other. Lots of lovely projects on the go there Maria.

  9. I love the idea of a rainbow delectable mountains quilt. Great blocks. A WIP becomes a UFO when you stop working on it. I think there are some of those around here. . .

  11. Lovely job on your YELLOW/GOLD blocks for the Rainbow Scrap Challenge!! In response to your question, a WIP becomes a UFO when it goes into a bag and doesn't come out for a very long time. The amount of time is qualified by each individual quiltmaker.

  12. The Autumn Star blocks are beautiful, especially in those colours. I think UFOs are something you are not working on even when you think you ought to, or something you have forgotten in a box. The terrible news are sadly WIP.

  16. The world is such a scary place. It's always good to keep our heads down and keep on creating to save our sanity. It's nice that sunny yellow is our RSC color for March.

  17. I understand completely hiding away in the cave - your yellows are nice and happy. The Autumn Star block is pretty cool. I think WIPs are being looked at and added to on a regular basis - and UFOs are ones 'to get back to - one day'??!! I have plenty of both.
