Can you believe it's AUGUST already and time to have fun sewing along with Cheryll and Friends for our FnWFs.
First I cut a pile of wadding for my new project.
Now to learn how to crochet around the squares and then join them ?????
I think this is a long term project.
I noticed on the calendar it's only 17 weeks till Christmas so I did some more secret sewing before calling it a night,
I hope all are keeping well and safe especially those in lock down.
Must away now and get some brekky......
Hugs Maria ❤
Interesting new project Maria. Christmas is coming waaaayyyy to soon!!!
ReplyDeleteI am intrigued as to what your new project is going to be??????? Now you have frightened me about Christmas.....I wonder if we will miss out again like we did last year....hopefully not.
ReplyDeleteI'm very curious about your fabric and crochet project. I hope you'll share photos as you make progress.
ReplyDeleteMy friend has made these. She used a wool sewing needle to push through the fabric/wadding to make holes to crochet in.
ReplyDeleteI too will be interested to see how your crochet project works! xx
ReplyDeleteI did scarves crocheting around fabric squares years ago! a fun project. enjoy
ReplyDeleteI'm joining the crowd with interest in the crochet project. Are you following a blog/pattern so you know what to do and how to do it? How much sewing did you do on the squares? Mostly just quilted? How fun!!!
ReplyDeleteSo you are going to be a 'bit' mean and show us bits and parts of what your new project is--well --I can wait--!!! course I might need to eat a bit more chocolate while I am stress waiting!!!!

Oooh! I've often thought about doing a crochet quilt. It will be interesting to see your progress. How big are your quilted fabric squares?
ReplyDeleteHi Maria,
ReplyDeletewas great sewing with you on Friday Night at Cheryll. Great new project and Christmas always comes way to soon. Good you started already.
I remember when lots of people were making those quilts that were crocheted together. I never made one because I don't crochet. Well, I can, but I'm not very good at it. I look forward to seeing your progress! :0)
ReplyDeleteI'm intrigued by your latest project and look forward to progress reports...and....really.....do we need to be reminded Christmas will be here before we know it...:)
ReplyDeleteAlways lovely to have you join FNwF...& a very interesting project start...xox
ReplyDeleteI love that design...always looks so pretty xx
ReplyDeleteLet me know how you do with the project with the crocheted edgings. I've had one of those on my to-do list for YEARS!!! I'll be anxious to follow your progress, and will hopefully be inspired to get started on my own.
ReplyDeleteIt's certainly crazy that it is August already!! How did that happen? A good reminder to how close Christmas is becoming. Looks like you've been hard at it with the sewing but, I mean....what else can you do during all this wet winter we've been having. Can't go outside because it's too wet and windy. lol. Have a beautiful day. xx
ReplyDeleteGood that you're preparing for Christmas, but not something I want to think about yet.
ReplyDeletethe crocheted quilting squares sound fascinating. I’ll bet they will be gorgeous. The year is going much too quickly. I can’t even think Christmas yet.
ReplyDeleteDo your squares that you are crocheting together have wadding in them ?
ReplyDeleteI've seen a few projects like this one - very pretty when its done.
Christmas?? no time to think about it - though I should be.
