Finish for OPAM and WOOFA.... for April 2021

 So another month has slipped by and thankfully I have two lovely ladies, Kris for OPAM and Cheryll for the WOOFA Challenge who keep me encouraged to work on my projects and have at least one finish for the month. Thank you both ...

I only have one finish this month, the second Paper Dolls by Toni form Red Boot Company 

And I actually even made labels for both quilts....

I did put the binding on Anderson's Farm and quilted the Hounds for WOOFA . Both are packed ready to take to our Patchwork Groups 25th birthday sewing day on Saturday.....Binding on The Hound and buttons on Anderson's Farm...

 

and of course can't go to a sewing day and not start a new project." Carnival" a free pattern from this years quilt  calendar.....

I've cut all the coloured blocks and hope to have all sashing ready so I can get on and sew, I'll make it May's WOOFA Challenge

FNSI for April 2021 ....

Tonight I joined Wendy for FNSI and first up I sewed on a top and bottom border of "The Hounds" which I had appliqued during the week. ...

then I sewed the binding on "Anderson's Farm "

and lastly I prepared the binding for "Paper Dolls 2" which I also quilted this week.....

Oh and I also made four Chop Sticks blocks for Aussie Hero's ....

Must away and have some shut eye....

Keep safe and my thoughts are with the folk who lost so much in the cyclone.

FnwFs for April 2021

It was lovely to join in again for FnwFs with Cheryll even though she's away in their caravan....So after tracing all The Hounds from Toni's Happy Quilts book  on Friday night I found the fabrics I needed, ironed the pattern onto the blocks 

and started sewing..

I completed this block yesterday but I didn't get round to posting FnwFs till now...

We are having weird hot humid weather and its eerie and windy as there are not one , not two but three different cyclones looming of our coast which are meant to hit later today so to keep busy  I've started making some Chop Stick blocks for Aussie Hero's and doing my RSC blocks as leader and endders....

Must post this now as we MAY lose power ,

Quiet Easter....

 As we were having a quiet Easter Weekend I decided to make a " Quilt by Numbers" quilt top that Helen Mac was making on Facebook .... A quick and easy top......I dug through my stash and found the required 14 fabrics , cut into strips joined and sewed them together...

sewed strips together ready to cut and sew into the rows.....

After sewing fours rows together I realised there wouldn't be enough of some of the fabrics because I hadn't read the instructions right, I cut strips at 5 1/2" instead of 5" GRRRRR!!!!!! Boy that did make a big difference....

So I put in a substitute fabric but didn't like it but as I had bought the aqua with flowers well over a year ago at our local Craft Shop and this is all that's left

thought I'd JUST try to go to the shop with my tiny piece and ask ?????????  How lucky was I . There was a small pack in a box selling half price in a sale that Kym had just sorted ....

 

so I unpicked the blocks , cut and put in the right fabric ... Also I joined all the small pieces of fabrics from the blocks I was sort of to make the right amount of blocks .

 

so finally after lots of joins all the rows were sewn together in the flimsy 

So much for a quick easy Bargallo.......

Now to find the right size backing and get it sandwiched and quilted...

Tonight I'm joining in with Cheryll for FnwFs and I've chosen a pattern from Toni's " Happy Quilts Book " which will also be my WOOFA  challenge ....

Must away to trace out the pieces......
