WOOFA (not) for January.....

I decided to join Cheryll for WOOFA again this year ..

Last year I worked on "Urban Owls" and I finally got all the blocks together ( sorry didn't take a photo) and the plan was to quilt it this year as a WOOFA challenge.

I always pin my quilts but I was told that spray basting was great so I decided to try it ... After doing the center block I turned the quilt over to discover it had puckered .... I'll need to unpick it all and then PIN it... it's put a damper on the project.......

so now I've picked " Sisters" for Febs project and hope it easier to sandwich ,pin and quilt....

Thank you Cheryll for the gentle push and reminders again this year....

Must away and find something for dinner.

Stay happy and well.

Hugs  Maria ❤

  1. What sort of batting do you use? I've had no luck with spray basting wool. From what I've seen, the people who love spray basting use very flat cotton batting that doesn't move.

All the best for your Feb WOOFA project!

  2. Guess I just won't try spray basting! I have enough troubles with puckers!

  3. How frustrating to end up with puckers onthe back, happened to me too earlier in the week I've never tried the spray method, it's never really appealed.

  4. How annoying and time wasting. I guess that can of spray baste that I was given will continue to sit on the edge of the sewing table.

  5. Oohh Nooo... but you know you can adjust spray basting (obviously before you quilt) and it really is a lot easier if you FMQ. I always check the backing before I place/spray the top on... but this info doesn't help you NoW...:(
"Sisters" will be another beauty for February.

  6. Sorry to see the puckers happening, I prefer pins to spray basting, although it is good for small things. Looking forward to seeing your Sisters quilted .

  12. OOPS! Sorry about the glue basting misadventures. I don't have much luck with the spray either. Your girls should be a fun February project!
