I was delighted this week to receive my lovely fabrics I had ordered in the mail.....
Now I need to decide which one of Toni's lovely patterns from the The Red Boot Quilt Company I want to make first.....
Hubby and I had a few days in the Big Smoke and I had fun going fabric shopping with my DD...
Some great backings and the sashing for my SS Blocks at a bargain price....
While there DD was going to throw out these scraps sew I rescued them...
My DD told me I was only allowed to take them home if I used them straight away. Sew this is what I've been doing ( the bigger pieces I have put aside for later)
Still need to cut more to have enough for the quilt but I'm sure I have plenty of scraps to use....LOL.
What have you been making this week?
Happy Stitching
Hugz Maria :)
Oooh pretty fabrics! Glad you had a great time. Look forward to seeing your gifted scrappy project x
ReplyDeleteHow exciting...new projects are so fun. Good save...you can't be throwing away precious fabric!!!
ReplyDeleteooh those polka dots are scrumptious! good for you using up those scraps. I've been doing lots of EPP, plotting my next quilt...
ReplyDeleteOh my gosh! Throw all that away! Thank goodness you were there to rescue the scraps. It's good to try to use them right away, so I'm glad you have a plan. I rescued some fabrics from a couple of friends a few months ago, and they're still sitting in bags. It's time to make a plan or move them out to a group who makes charity quilts from ANY fabric!!Love all the dotty fabric!
ReplyDeleteGreat rescue
ReplyDeletelovely fabrics Maria and great work with the scraps. I always like to save them too though it takes time sorting and cutting, pressing etc.... worth it
ReplyDeleteHugz
Fabric whether, small pieces or medium pieces or large pieces are always just fun to have around you--and to get some nice ones and not cost you--can't bet that price!!!
ReplyDeleteHave lots of fun with them--
and I love the new piles --love polka dots--
enjoy the moments, diane
You have a very clever daughter. I need someone to tell me that!!!! Looks like you got some fun fabric mail and great bargains as well.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it neat that daughters come in so handy !!!!!!!!! ~smile!~ I love that one piece with the little bird. lol
ReplyDeleteThat's a bit tough DD!!! She should be pleased to have found a good home for her "scraps"...much better than the bin!!! Love all those dots.
ReplyDeleteIt sounds like you have had a fun time visiting, shopping and sewing :-) Those fabrics are going to look great in one of those quilts... and how nice that DD has set you a good task while you're deciding which one to sew first!
ReplyDeleteSo many beautiful fabrics! x
ReplyDeleteHi Maria how lovely that you can use DD's scraps and love your new purchases, hope your day is a good one.
ReplyDeleteSomeone else's scraps are almpst always more interesting than my own! I feel guilty just hoarding them and not getting new quilts done. Very wise of your DD to set you a goal! It will be fun to see what you create.
ReplyDeleteLooks like those scraps are going to be perfect for that pattern Maria; what a wonderful thinker you are, to rescue them & make them into something useful & beautiful. That sashing looks very skinny, LOL.
ReplyDeleteI love Red Boots designs - Toni is so clever - I love the Fox one, although they're all great... enjoy choosing! x
I'm on a mission to use up my scraps too ... after my next quilt
ReplyDeleteNice addition to the stash. Another scrappy project started
