the last two nights I have joined Wendy and 60 others for FNSI. Thank you Wendy for getting us together again.
Firstly I played with my scrappy Snowballs and 9Patch blocks which I am SAL with Terry.
It won’t be the prettiest quilt when it’s finished BUT I will have used up piles of 2 1/2 inch blocks and DH will have a new quilt for the lounge…
Next I finished my February Blocks for my other SAL with Chooky and her whip cracking assistant Susan..
This is the first time I have done needle turn and I can’t say I am enjoying it YET…
Must show you the lovely Valentine Postcard that was sent by Janet all the way from The Yukon in Canada…
Sew sweet Janet, thank you….Also Sheila for organising the swap…
Big thank you to all the lovely ladies who keep me inspired to keep sewing in SALs and swaps……
Hugz Maria
Hi Maria - Great use of your little squares! - is that the 'dogs breakfast' you wrote me about? I think it will be perfect for Blue's chair.
ReplyDeleteGood on you keeping up with the SAL... the pieces look great!

Your snowball quilt looks great! I love the color you used for your background fabric! :0)
ReplyDeleteWell done my friend. I've decided I signed up for too many SAL's this year, so I had to pass on Terry's this time. It is going to be a great use of scraps, though. And I love Chooky's SAL, and will watch your progress.
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy that the postcard finally arrived! Only a week late... The snowball does have interesting colours but sometimes those things that look not so great to start look wonderful later on when they are finished and quilted. Well how could anything that you put so much work into not look great?!
ReplyDeleteLooks like a good time spent sewing Maria. Fiddly little pieces for a first time needleturn- your work looks great, hopefuly you will love doing it by the end of the quilt! Sweet postcard from Janet, it was a lovely swap.

ReplyDeleteWow Mum you were busy, as always.
ReplyDeleteI was finishing a viking bag for the GC Birthday party. Will post about to day.
FYI I love the scrappy quilt, it is not the colours you would normally choose. Maybe that is why you don't think it is pretty.
ReplyDeleteGreat start to your scrappy snowballs, fabulous background colour you've chosen :) Well done on your SAL blocks. I haven't done needle-turn yet either, good on you for trying it, hope it becomes fun soon :)
ReplyDeleteGreat scrappy quilt , I haven't started mine yet . Sweet card from janet and your sal blocks are really great !
ReplyDeleteWonderful scrap quilt! Keep it up!
ReplyDeleteSomething tells me you are a 'natural' needle turner Maria. Your applique is beautiful and for a first attempt at NT.... amazing. Love your Natures Journey blocks. For the record... I think your snowballs and nine patches are pretty.... it's going to be a great quilt. Have fun.....xxx
