Catch up Post

I realised I hadn’t posted my other RSC blocks or the Aussie Hero ones for June….. 

And my Orange Fish all have eyes…..

Aussie Hero Blocks.

Hubby had asked if I could make a couple of bowl cosies for his friend’s Mum. So I checked out my stash and found some cute owl fabrics and two different spotty ones…

Also I’ve finally tackled “ Horrible Horis “ and re-potted him… He has the nastiest barbs.

And I also fell down a rabbit hole and decided I needed a new hand sewing project . A Hexie Caddy.

Once I started I just keep working on it each day . Not sure if it needs a lid or I will use it to put and my bits in next to my chair?? 

Oh and I did finally re thread that pesky overlocked and it’s sewing beautifully.

That’s all for now and

Time for a coffee

As hubby is a short stout fella I always need to shorten his trackies so out came the overlocker. It sounded like a chaff cutter so I decided to service it and change the needles. ( I can’t remember when that was last done) .. 

On the first test run the bottom thread broke  ( green  lines) and if you own an overlocker you’ll know it’s the trickiest to rethread. After nearly an hour finally it was done, so test number two. 

There was  an awful crunching sound and finally removing the test piece from the machine I opened the little door and found this????

The cottons got all tangled up. You think I’d give up after this but I patiently untangled it, rethreaded the machine and gave it a third try. 🤞

Oh No……. Still not sewing right and look why?? The darn bottom thread…. I must have missed that first loop so now I  have to take it all the way out and start again . SO I have left it for now and will make a coffee.☕️ 

Must away now to enjoy my cuppa and will do a catch up post later .

FnwFs for June.

Can’t believe it’s June already and being the first Friday of the month time to join Cheryll for FnwFs…

I like to get organised ready to sew along with others . 

As the Jelly Roll quilt was under the machine I decided to finish the quilting and attach the binding which I always do by machine.

This quilt will be donated to a lady in care.

Next I appliquéd the Fish for Angela’s RSC. Just need to finish the little one and add eyes.

Earlier in the day I also cut blocks ready to make Aussie Hero’s blocks and my other RSC ones….

Would like to get them done over the weekend but 

Must away now to have coffee with my friend and croquet in the afternoon.
