OPAM Jan &Feb finishes... and FmwFs...

I am sew happy KRIS and PEG are organizing us again for OPAM as it always gives me a push to have some finishes each month. Thanks Ladies..

When I checked my previous posts I was surprised how many finishes I had for Jan and Feb....

I can now show you the Quilt I made for my new GGS Peter as it was made from a Layered Cake and it was a sample for Saturday's Workshop...

Didn't what to cut up the nice blocks sew the pattern was perfect for this fabric...


Minnie Mouse was a panel I found in the cupboard while tidying up. Still have Mickey to do...

Always good to have some quick easy quilts that just need to be sandwiched then stippled....

Then the Topper and coaster from Scraps....

Mystery Workshop

As I mentioned in the previous post our Patchwork Group was having a "Mystery Workshop" yesterday.. I had helped our workshop co ordinater Allison to organise it. For weeks we had members quizzing us as to what we were doing , it was fun keeping it a secret...

25 ladies had signed up to join us for the day...After all had a arrived they received their Mystery Bag....

it contained , A Layered Cake, 4 patterns, a Patch magazine ,sweets ,a bottle of water and the lucky No for prizes through the day.... Oh should have taken a photo of all the bags lined up and the contents........

 Allison had a chat and we showed then some of the samples we had sewn...

 the ladies watched a tutorial and then off to cut and sew......

Of course we had plenty of food catered by the lovely Sue who just comes into the Hall drops it off and disappears again.......

Playing with Scraps...

I've been having fun this week playing with scraps and I made 5 more "Pineapple Blocks"

and the 2nd set of blocks for Patchwork Quilt Along

Side Tracked on FNSI...

In my previous post I showed you the pile of fabrics I was getting ready to use for FNSI with Wendy and friends but I got side tracked.....

As I was digging through my big plastic box of scraps I came across these...












Hmm! what to do with them ??












I know I'll find some wadding and something for a backing and












 Taa Dah ! A nice new runner to put next to the kettle and a little coaster to put my Double Decker Tea Caddy on..

Now back to my scraps.....Had fun making these....












Saw them on Lynda's blog post and thought what a great way to use my scraps.. Have more cut to put together tonight ...








Oh and I also managed to make some Blocks for Aussie Hero's in the afternoon...

It's 42 deg cel on our Patio sew it's nice to be inside with the Air Con blasting and I'll pop over HERE to see what others have made.. Thanks Wendy , love my sewing nights with all my virtual friends..

Getting Ready for FNSI....

P.S.... Yes I did finally get the issue resolved with my sever after the third attempt.....

While

 I am waiting for my internet sever to answer my call, have been on hold for two hours Grrrr!,

decided to write a post.. That should cheer me a little...

This week I was delighted to have a little White and Red card in my mail box.. when I went into the Post Office there wasn't one parcel but two... 

The pretty pink one was from my Judith (no Blog) for the Initail Heart Swap organised by our great swap Mum Cheryll.....

Look at the lovely cross stitch Judith stitched and put onto a wooden Heart... Will find a nice spot to hang it in "The Cave"... She also included a sweet Heart candle and paper Clip...
Thank you Judith and Cheryll.....another fun swap.....

The other parcel had Lynette Anderson's "Anderson's Farm Blocks".....

I know I couldn't resist Raewyn   Loved seeing you work on your "Barge Farm"...

Well it's been another hour and I am still on hold and i'm now very ANNOYED sew I'm going to hung up.... nearly three hours is long enough!!!!

FnwFs ..........

Last night was FnwFs and there were 28 other ladies who I sewed along with..

As I tidied the Cave I come across a stitchery roll that just needed a tie stitched on...





















All done and ready to be put into the gift box....

                  Next I put together a flimsy which will be a floor mat for little Peter....

                                     Hope to sandwich and quilt it tomorrow.

A Muddy Swimming Hole and FnwFs Again

In my previous post I showed how hot its been. After that there was a cyclone brewing up North sew  it to rained for a few days sew making it was very sticky and humid , still is, yuk.....
When it rains heavy inland it drains into the river which then causes the river month to flood and our swimming hole looks like this.....

Thankfully South Beach isn't affected and we can still have our swim each morning and the bonus is it's near the cafe and we can also have a coffee afterwards.....  

I just can't believe it's the first Friday of Feb already... It only seamed like yesterday it was the beginning of 2017....

I always enjoy sewing along with my virtual friends and it's not too late for you to pop over to Cherlly's over HERE and join in...


Going into my Cave to see what I can work on but first I need to tidy it a little...
